You've seen season one, so I saw half of season one, and that's about Jackson and then yeah, it's about Jackson, and it's about XFL a bit too. The beginning of it's more about XFL, and then it goes into Jackson because I think Prime first went if I'm I remember it correctly, I think he went to xs XFL like training camps before this, before he went to the other school.

But but but it only bought them three more games in the win column then than the year before their first year. I mean, sports are hard, and especially at that level, like they're it's only gonna get harder too, because the PAC twelve just disintegrade. I think they're gonna they're gonna get They're gonna get way better recruits for the season. They're gonna probably be like they're not gonna be. They came out ranked for like what the first two weeks weeks they were ranked top twenty five maybe, and then they got blown out and then they lost again and again. But they were playing like real teams, right, No, they're their league is insane,

I I think I think it's good for I don't think there's a negative of hype, and then I don't think there's a negative. Yeah, and you look at ticket sales, you look like you look at momentum. It's it's college because of the transfer portal.

You know, they're going to get some like like and they did even last year they got some dope or this past year they got some dope guys that were going to go to big schools. It's only going to get better. Yeah, and and and you know, the transfer portal has its positives and negatives, but it does kind of even the playing field in all of D one sports, which kind of makes things exciting. You know, there's there's time and basketball has kind of been that way, but football in particular, you know, it evens a playing field for these smaller schools to you know, kind of have a shot. But then it hurts them too, right, Sex State had an amazing season and they all just left and went to Stanford. Yeah, so there's give and take. That's the problem. Another controversial take is I thought the thing was boring as fuck. I could not. I was really struggling to stay awake through it. It's just like, yeah, football platitude after football platitude after football platitude. I I did to you, like I'm it gives me fired out. He doesn't do anything for me at all.

Some of the player interviews, although probably slightly scripted because they're young, you know, like that walk on kid, the running back, he's probably fucking nice. Yeah, yeah, I love them. Uh, And it's a quick interview fighter obviously the whole story is about Dion, so like the player interviews are going to be side pieces versus what you see on Dion, Like they're not going to follow one player as much. The other difficulty is, uh, you know, what's a college roster? Sixty people? It's deep? Yeah right, so like yeah, so like who do you follow and how do you follow? So obviously it's about Dion, but seeing him with his family was cool. I like that a lot, seeing him and about his son like that a lot.

And then deal's like injury stuff I found interesting enough and and just because I know what it takes to coach at a high high level, like like all that stuff. It's kind of like war and not to like obviously downplay what war means, but uh, to have like your leader like go through pain like that and then have like speeches like that and show the needles that he went through just to run out with you to stand there see him crying, Like I I love all that, Like sports literally raised me, and so that stuff I find incredibly inspiring because it sucks, you know, like I can't imagine Dion's pain. Uh you saw the scars and shit, yeah that that ship's nuts to me. And and just to show how much he cares. And I think that's at least for what I got from the first two episodes, that would make me want to watch the rest. I don't know if I will for sure I watch the rest. Yeah, I uh, this is definitely off to a bank a more interesting start for me personally than the first season because I only give a shit about high school football. Yeah, and and it does matter, uh yeah, like Colorado is like a Cinderella story, you know. And obviously, yeah, they didn't win a ship ton of games, but even being TCU, you can almost just mark out on the

And obviously some of that's emotional, right, like they get so hyped for that and then you win that and that could play a big role in the next you know, a season is so fast three months. You know, the collegeball seasons is quat and they're eighteen year old kids, so they get so hyped to beat this team games. Yeah that's it. And if they won, it might be like if they won five or six, I mean that's like for college that's not bad. Yeah, like a new team no, and it's just hard of a division. The emotional journey is what a lot of people don't even like think about because all this stuff so normalized on ESPN and you just think about it as like a video game, like oh, well, to see you as a good defense, Like what the fuck does that mean? Like they're they're six guys like you know, like you don't, and they're going through finals because it's December now they got to play a bowl game, and like, you know, there's all these other factors that I think makes sports so special in coaching and team because yeah, at the end of the day of their humans, they're not like rated bots like a video game.

But but we've watched a lot of sports talks at this point, and whether or not I was interested in the sport, I was usually interested in what was how it was being presented. Yeah, I was not with this one. It just it just didn't at all work for me. Yeah. Some are based more around the story, obviously, and this story is Dion in Colorado, Like it's more tightly tied to the sport, where like some of the golf ones were going in more into their home and their wife and there. Yeah, this is strictly about this Dion Colorado, Like how do we windowing out to Colorado?

You can learn a lot. I mean that's kind of like lifting too. Lifting you can learn a lot if you go in. The difference is like you're on your own, so you have to like you have to set the path and follow the path, where other sports you just have to like kind of show up, you know, and the path is kind of there for you. And that's kind why I think that's kind of why I was so drawn to the sport of like weightlifting and as opposed to CrossFit or even powerlifting, because it's like, like it is very team oriented. Yeah, it's individual performance, but like you are like going through shit every day with the same group of people at the same time.

If anybody does weightlifting, it doesn't compete her, right, fucking maybe psychotic maybe nowadays just because it's got more weightlifting maybybe like sprinkle it in. Yeah yeah, sprinkled in for sure. But that's fine. But if you're like exclusively weightlifting and not competing, that doesn't make any sense. Yeah, because the training for weightlifting is horrible. Yeah, it's awful, I mean all of it, because it's so it's just so boring. It's just it's also just hard on your body. It's not like it's not it's not you don't do weightlifting for fitness. Yeah. I was thinking about this stuff the other day too, just because some came on my Instagram about our gym. I can barely want, Like Dion, man, my body's fucked up from like six hours of like like our high level competing and weightlifting, Like, my body's fucked up. Yeah, if you actually go off for it and like push yourself.

And you're right in the sense that probably the only way to do that is if you compete. And the difference in these sports is, yeah, you got to do it yourself or you're part of some of are like here, where like there's probably a lot of power builder type of kids here that h that's how you compete, but like they're kind of all trained together at the same time every day, and like then you get that push environment. Yeah, hopefully you rev it up, but even still competing, there is something to it if you've never done it, you know.

You know, Like that's how it proved myself, Like all right, man, like we might not be the best here x y Z, but like could I strategically do something to make everybody around me better? And that's kind of what I missing. Powerlifting is like I just can't you know, you can't out theory something, you can't out strategize something. I can't finagle my way, which is a beauty in its own though, right, Like you can't finagle your way around gravity, like you just gotta not. Yeah, you're just bashing against a wall until you get stronger every day. So there's a beauty in that too, But it kind of affects, you know, the coaching
