Netflix’s Untold: The Liver King | Review

Netflix’s Untold: The Liver King | Review

Netflix’s Untold documentary series takes a look at the phenomenon of The Liver King. Purportedly already a multi-millionaire, Brian Johnson launched a muscular social media and YouTube presence as a “primal” influencer who used raw organ meats, including testicles, rather than steroids to build his crazy physique. He amassed a huge following and reaped more revenue for his supplement company, but was he telling the truth about being natty?

Nope.

The documentary spends a bit too much time setting up his performative persona and a bit too little time examining the fallout of his outing as a heavy steroid user (and his apparent previous life of crime). But the bottom line is that the man and this documentary are steeped in ick.

1
00:00:10.039 --> 00:00:10.439
Welcome.

2
00:00:12.640 --> 00:00:16.760
I have an hypothesis, though maybe I should say now, okay,

3
00:00:16.800 --> 00:00:19.280
and then we dive into this thing and then you

4
00:00:19.320 --> 00:00:21.480
guys at the end can tell me if you agree

5
00:00:21.519 --> 00:00:26.879
with my hypothesis. All right, Shakespeare's famous quote, and I

6
00:00:28.879 --> 00:00:33.520
believe in this deeply, that all all all the worlds

7
00:00:33.520 --> 00:00:37.640
of stage, all men and women are merely players. Players

8
00:00:37.640 --> 00:00:40.880
and you know old English meaning probably actors of some nature.

9
00:00:41.799 --> 00:00:48.320
This felt like a pr rebuttal to a pr rebuttal

10
00:00:48.520 --> 00:00:51.880
to a pr rebuttal. And the gentleman in the suit

11
00:00:51.960 --> 00:00:57.520
with the goatee, the marketing ceo I think paid off

12
00:00:57.679 --> 00:01:04.519
Netflix to make this. We'll get, yeah, just to sit

13
00:01:04.599 --> 00:01:06.120
on it, and we'll come to your all this conclusion

14
00:01:06.159 --> 00:01:10.840
to theay. But first off, we're covering liver Kings, the comeback.

15
00:01:10.920 --> 00:01:16.079
Yeah, the untold the liver king thing from Netflix, and

16
00:01:16.120 --> 00:01:16.640
I'll give.

17
00:01:16.480 --> 00:01:23.760
It this one. I hated it too. It's probably one

18
00:01:23.799 --> 00:01:26.280
of the things. And they say art art isn't to

19
00:01:26.400 --> 00:01:30.799
be uh explained artists, artists should just drive a motion.

20
00:01:31.079 --> 00:01:33.319
It did make me feel something.

21
00:01:34.079 --> 00:01:35.719
Uh sick to your stomach.

22
00:01:35.840 --> 00:01:38.560
Yeah, no, it put me in a bad mood, it

23
00:01:38.599 --> 00:01:42.079
really did. And I I, uh, I've been working real

24
00:01:42.159 --> 00:01:45.439
hard on my emotions and detaching from life and whatever

25
00:01:45.439 --> 00:01:47.519
for my whole life, you know, with therapy, et cetera.

26
00:01:47.799 --> 00:01:49.879
But even in my you know, personal business. You know,

27
00:01:49.959 --> 00:01:52.159
businesses are roller coasters and you have to start to

28
00:01:52.200 --> 00:01:55.319
control your emotions and a lot of things don't like

29
00:01:55.400 --> 00:01:59.159
hit me viscerally. But I watched the whole thing obviously,

30
00:01:59.239 --> 00:02:01.680
and and and like I just noticed for the rest

31
00:02:01.719 --> 00:02:04.000
of the evening, I was like, man, I don't feel good.

32
00:02:04.799 --> 00:02:05.719
This is like, ikey.

33
00:02:06.120 --> 00:02:07.719
This is part of why I watched it right before

34
00:02:07.760 --> 00:02:09.719
I went to bed, so that I could sleep through

35
00:02:10.080 --> 00:02:11.000
probably a nightmares.

36
00:02:11.080 --> 00:02:12.439
It made me feel ikey.

37
00:02:12.719 --> 00:02:15.479
Yeah, I didn't have nightmares, but it did it. It's yeah,

38
00:02:15.520 --> 00:02:18.840
the ick is strong with this one, for sure. And

39
00:02:19.159 --> 00:02:22.319
I think that every single thing we saw in the

40
00:02:22.319 --> 00:02:24.199
whole thing was performative by everyone.

41
00:02:24.319 --> 00:02:27.800
That's what I'm so you're with my hypothesis, so that's

42
00:02:27.840 --> 00:02:28.960
that's probably true.

43
00:02:29.080 --> 00:02:33.719
I think that the people who used to work for him, however, yeah,

44
00:02:33.759 --> 00:02:36.560
like his buddy with the hat, are more critical than

45
00:02:36.599 --> 00:02:38.360
I was expecting for them to be.

46
00:02:38.960 --> 00:02:42.000
But even that they were like still kind of nice, Like, man,

47
00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:44.840
he should have told me about steroids. They like, no, dude,

48
00:02:44.879 --> 00:02:48.240
this dude's literally a scam on top of a scam

49
00:02:48.400 --> 00:02:51.199
on top of a scam, and then when it's all released,

50
00:02:51.199 --> 00:02:53.719
he has another story about when he was seventeen he

51
00:02:53.759 --> 00:02:58.240
was a scammer, right, Like what they even inject that?

52
00:02:58.240 --> 00:02:59.479
That is a really good question.

53
00:02:59.639 --> 00:03:02.280
I guess going to like Catholic confession. He's just letting

54
00:03:02.319 --> 00:03:05.319
himself the whole world know he's a literal scum bucket

55
00:03:05.360 --> 00:03:05.960
from day one.

56
00:03:07.520 --> 00:03:11.319
I cannot tell you whether or not I think it's

57
00:03:11.319 --> 00:03:13.520
not even whether it's true, but I can't tell you

58
00:03:13.560 --> 00:03:17.520
exactly what I think about whether number one, everything that

59
00:03:17.560 --> 00:03:21.960
we see is completely performative or if you believe some

60
00:03:22.080 --> 00:03:24.240
of this shit and he acts it out in the

61
00:03:24.280 --> 00:03:25.319
cringiest possible way.

62
00:03:25.400 --> 00:03:28.000
Yeah, because they kind of led that in the end, right,

63
00:03:28.159 --> 00:03:32.280
Like when you believe something so much, you know, it

64
00:03:32.319 --> 00:03:34.680
becomes your truth or something. I'm like, that's not like

65
00:03:34.680 --> 00:03:37.960
a justification for doing bad things. No, it's really not,

66
00:03:38.319 --> 00:03:41.039
Like that's like the easiest cop out ever, Like, well,

67
00:03:41.080 --> 00:03:42.960
he didn't mean to. He just believed he had to

68
00:03:43.000 --> 00:03:46.759
take care of his sick kids. Like what, well he's

69
00:03:46.840 --> 00:03:50.879
forty five, Yeah, Like you're a fucking adult and you're

70
00:03:50.919 --> 00:03:53.800
you literally are doing the same. I mean that GNC

71
00:03:54.000 --> 00:03:57.280
story is literal fraud. Oh yeah, totally, Like you put

72
00:03:57.319 --> 00:04:00.400
him behind bars, yeah, you know the steroid lit Yeah,

73
00:04:00.400 --> 00:04:02.919
you can't really put them behind bars. But like if

74
00:04:03.199 --> 00:04:06.400
you know where there's smoke, there is fire, there's nothing,

75
00:04:06.560 --> 00:04:09.439
you know. I just I just doubt his business on

76
00:04:09.479 --> 00:04:12.000
the back end, and him as a human and his

77
00:04:12.159 --> 00:04:15.360
poor fucking kids, which will dig into Sebos mentioned like

78
00:04:15.919 --> 00:04:25.759
there's not innocence running around this thing. His kids. Rad Ikel. Yeah, bro,

79
00:04:25.839 --> 00:04:28.000
I went to a weird school, you know. I grew

80
00:04:28.040 --> 00:04:30.920
up with kids with named Forrest and Apple and shit,

81
00:04:31.079 --> 00:04:36.360
you know, like, okay, rad Ikel, rad Ikel, Yeah the fuck?

82
00:04:36.920 --> 00:04:38.920
His other kid had normal name, I think, right, I

83
00:04:38.920 --> 00:04:40.560
don't remember. It might have been like Brian or something.

84
00:04:40.560 --> 00:04:44.680
But rad Ekel is insane. And those poor kids, uh

85
00:04:45.639 --> 00:04:49.240
talk about fraud. I don't think they ever ate raw food.

86
00:04:48.920 --> 00:04:50.519
Because they ever see them put it in their mouths.

87
00:04:50.560 --> 00:04:52.519
They did when they killed the cow and you could

88
00:04:52.519 --> 00:04:54.759
see them holding back vomit. Yeah that was like that.

89
00:04:55.000 --> 00:04:57.040
You're telling me you're doing that eerie nuts with your

90
00:04:57.079 --> 00:04:59.839
dad every day and then just this time you're gonna gag.

91
00:04:59.680 --> 00:05:03.759
Like and I shouldn't comment on appearents, but man, they

92
00:05:03.800 --> 00:05:06.319
need to see a dermatologist, both of them.

93
00:05:06.800 --> 00:05:09.519
Yeah, and like obviously some of it is sad. You know,

94
00:05:09.560 --> 00:05:13.439
they probably had, you know, some kind of autoimmune disease.

95
00:05:13.240 --> 00:05:15.879
Like not yeah, because maybe the marketing guy throws that

96
00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:18.920
into question at the end. Yeah, and it's like, just

97
00:05:19.079 --> 00:05:20.439
is this just part of the story.

98
00:05:20.560 --> 00:05:22.639
That's where I do I do agree with some of that,

99
00:05:22.720 --> 00:05:25.079
you know, even like carnivore gets a bad rap because

100
00:05:25.120 --> 00:05:28.839
of the people pushing carnivore where Like an elimination diet,

101
00:05:28.839 --> 00:05:31.120
if you have things going wrong, if you're shitting yourself

102
00:05:31.160 --> 00:05:33.680
every day as an adult, you should probably take some

103
00:05:33.720 --> 00:05:37.079
foods away, break it down to some veggies and meat,

104
00:05:37.160 --> 00:05:38.920
and then build your way back up and find out

105
00:05:38.920 --> 00:05:40.439
why you're shitting yourself every day.

106
00:05:40.480 --> 00:05:42.920
But it may not be the food. May there might

107
00:05:42.959 --> 00:05:43.360
be the other way.

108
00:05:43.399 --> 00:05:43.879
Yeah, it may not.

109
00:05:45.600 --> 00:05:48.040
There may not be any other way to figure that out.

110
00:05:48.120 --> 00:05:51.399
Yeah, elimination, even when you're trying to, you know, lose

111
00:05:51.439 --> 00:05:54.839
weight or get jacked. Stripping everything away, Not that sugar

112
00:05:54.920 --> 00:05:56.759
is gonna you know, the devil, but you strip everything

113
00:05:56.800 --> 00:06:00.000
away first and then you slowly build back moderation and tolerance.

114
00:06:00.240 --> 00:06:01.879
I do that with a lot of people I work with.

115
00:06:01.959 --> 00:06:06.199
But yeah, their skin didn't really look healthy. No, they didn't,

116
00:06:06.360 --> 00:06:08.600
you know, for how much they supposedly worked out. I

117
00:06:08.600 --> 00:06:10.959
know they're kids. I should never like comment on kids,

118
00:06:11.000 --> 00:06:13.240
but like the one had to be close to eighteen. Yeah,

119
00:06:13.240 --> 00:06:15.319
a dude's lifting weights every day. He doesn't have an

120
00:06:15.319 --> 00:06:18.759
ounce of muscle, and all you're eating is protein. Like clearly,

121
00:06:19.360 --> 00:06:22.879
you know, the n equals one of liver King's slam

122
00:06:22.920 --> 00:06:26.279
and steroids like a fucking gorilla. He's the only one

123
00:06:26.319 --> 00:06:29.000
that looks that way. And for people first of which

124
00:06:29.040 --> 00:06:33.319
we've done many episodes, like for anyone to think he's natural, Yeah,

125
00:06:33.319 --> 00:06:37.319
that's that's pure insanity. That's like like pull up, pull

126
00:06:37.439 --> 00:06:42.079
up a Christian McCaffrey, some say Christian McCaffrey over the

127
00:06:42.120 --> 00:06:44.319
last five years top you know, three five running back

128
00:06:44.319 --> 00:06:47.079
in the NFL. He's a white man. He's a white man.

129
00:06:47.120 --> 00:06:49.439
So we're trying to, you know, keep keep the genetics here,

130
00:06:49.560 --> 00:06:53.319
similar to a liver King, and Christian's fucking jacked and

131
00:06:53.360 --> 00:06:58.519
he is cream of the crop. Genetics. That's the that's

132
00:06:58.600 --> 00:07:02.000
as freaky as a fucking gets for humans pretty much. Yeah,

133
00:07:02.079 --> 00:07:04.000
you know, and I'm pretty you know, I can't. I'm

134
00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:07.079
not gonna put money down, but you know, Christian's probably natural.

135
00:07:07.160 --> 00:07:08.319
He might you know, he's.

136
00:07:08.160 --> 00:07:09.759
Kind of got all the he's got all the.

137
00:07:09.720 --> 00:07:14.279
Abs, he's got some biceps. He's probably two he's probably

138
00:07:14.279 --> 00:07:17.639
two hundred pounds five ten. Yeah, and he's fast. She's

139
00:07:17.680 --> 00:07:21.480
fucking strong. And liver King looks like he's five six,

140
00:07:21.600 --> 00:07:25.360
two sixty with not an ounce of real athleticism. And

141
00:07:25.399 --> 00:07:26.079
you look like that.

142
00:07:27.360 --> 00:07:29.480
Yeah, Oh, he looks like he's stuffed full of something.

143
00:07:29.759 --> 00:07:37.120
And his friends, other people other like commentators, podcasters, logan Paul,

144
00:07:37.360 --> 00:07:40.519
who's getting a lot of steroid, you know, yeah, pushes

145
00:07:40.560 --> 00:07:42.240
now that he's in the WWE, and he did get

146
00:07:42.240 --> 00:07:45.560
pretty jacked, but at least like even him, like, oh man,

147
00:07:45.600 --> 00:07:48.439
he was like all American wrestler, right, you know, So

148
00:07:48.439 --> 00:07:49.639
I'm like, all right, he's got something.

149
00:07:49.720 --> 00:07:51.360
He had athletics.

150
00:07:51.399 --> 00:07:53.920
Suppose he was got football. He grew up literally the

151
00:07:53.920 --> 00:07:55.680
town over from my dad. He grew up in Westlake

152
00:07:55.680 --> 00:07:57.360
and we're from north Holmestead, Like he grew up in

153
00:07:57.600 --> 00:08:02.120
an athletic area. Okay, you know, maybe he he's six

154
00:08:02.279 --> 00:08:05.279
four two twenty, like a lot more believable, yeah than

155
00:08:05.399 --> 00:08:09.360
Liver King, who if you see him even before, there's

156
00:08:09.399 --> 00:08:12.759
too much to talk about. Bro like he like as

157
00:08:12.800 --> 00:08:15.240
he says, like I wanted, you know, millions of followers.

158
00:08:15.560 --> 00:08:18.120
He was kind of probably natty some of those videos.

159
00:08:18.160 --> 00:08:20.800
He looks kind of natty when he first started doing that,

160
00:08:21.000 --> 00:08:22.879
and then he just started plugging himself full of shit,

161
00:08:23.040 --> 00:08:25.879
taking one hundred takes to be a terrible content creator.

162
00:08:25.920 --> 00:08:29.480
So this, this review that's in The Guardian used this.

163
00:08:29.600 --> 00:08:32.360
He looks like a hot water bottle stuffed with bowling balls,

164
00:08:32.960 --> 00:08:36.600
an eighties action figure with more veins, an improbably muscular

165
00:08:36.639 --> 00:08:40.039
man who put his bodybuilder shaming physique down to a

166
00:08:40.080 --> 00:08:44.279
diet of raw liver, raw bone marrow and raw testicles.

167
00:08:43.720 --> 00:08:46.759
And even that talk about the fallacies in this thing.

168
00:08:46.799 --> 00:08:49.639
Within the first ten minutes, they got like a fully

169
00:08:49.720 --> 00:08:52.720
kicked prime rib on the on that table, right, And

170
00:08:52.720 --> 00:08:54.720
that's why I was talking to Sebots. I don't know,

171
00:08:54.799 --> 00:08:58.000
because you know, I followed him loosely. Was I found

172
00:08:58.120 --> 00:09:00.960
even looser than yeah, yeah, much less fans. So I

173
00:09:00.960 --> 00:09:04.480
don't know what his actual like ten inc and shtick is,

174
00:09:04.799 --> 00:09:07.360
but I thought it was raw meat. And then within

175
00:09:07.399 --> 00:09:10.559
the first ten minutes of this he's got a rolex on.

176
00:09:11.000 --> 00:09:13.000
I don't think my ancestors had that. No, he's got

177
00:09:13.039 --> 00:09:14.120
a prime rib cooked.

178
00:09:14.440 --> 00:09:14.759
Yeah.

179
00:09:14.799 --> 00:09:18.720
And then he's wearing a rogue shirt made of polyester plastics. Yeah,

180
00:09:18.799 --> 00:09:22.840
when he's all about like and then he's drinking alcohol yeah,

181
00:09:22.960 --> 00:09:25.000
you know, And I'm like, dude, you're you're you're preaching,

182
00:09:25.039 --> 00:09:28.279
you know, Like the con the contradictions here are just

183
00:09:28.440 --> 00:09:32.840
so so deep and clearly he's a crossfitter, right, Like

184
00:09:32.879 --> 00:09:35.399
they show the old clips and he's doing CrossFit right.

185
00:09:35.879 --> 00:09:37.600
He's got all his rogue shit on, which is cool,

186
00:09:37.720 --> 00:09:40.480
finding dandy, but don't claim to be this naturally you're

187
00:09:40.519 --> 00:09:43.519
grounding yourself. You won't wear shoes, and then you're just

188
00:09:43.559 --> 00:09:46.039
gonna wear polyester. And even me, I don't like wearing polyester.

189
00:09:46.159 --> 00:09:47.639
I try to wear as much cotton as I can,

190
00:09:48.039 --> 00:09:51.679
you know. But but like, I'm also not leading my

191
00:09:51.720 --> 00:09:54.320
life with the pitch that polyester and things are gonna

192
00:09:54.399 --> 00:09:54.720
kill you.

193
00:09:54.879 --> 00:09:58.279
Yeah. I've got a review from The Guardian and one

194
00:09:58.320 --> 00:10:01.159
from Time magazine, and both of the missed the point

195
00:10:01.799 --> 00:10:05.360
that's in the video that I think is probably true.

196
00:10:05.399 --> 00:10:08.559
That he was a multimillionaire before he started. You know,

197
00:10:08.799 --> 00:10:09.720
I've heard that as well.

198
00:10:09.799 --> 00:10:12.240
Yeah, whether it was those supplements or something I've even

199
00:10:12.320 --> 00:10:13.600
heard is something totally.

200
00:10:13.320 --> 00:10:18.039
Separate, possibly maybe just maybe maybe crime related.

201
00:10:18.360 --> 00:10:22.000
Yeah, maybe it is that GNC scam. Yeah, I don't

202
00:10:22.080 --> 00:10:25.440
I don't know dealing steroids. Again, where there's smoke, there

203
00:10:25.519 --> 00:10:25.919
is fire.

204
00:10:27.320 --> 00:10:31.200
If if somebody claims to be making X million dollars

205
00:10:31.240 --> 00:10:35.279
a year and you can't account for it based on

206
00:10:35.879 --> 00:10:39.559
you know, sales volume and and and popularity of their

207
00:10:39.600 --> 00:10:43.120
product or whatever whatever, they are either lying about the

208
00:10:43.159 --> 00:10:46.120
amount of money they're making or they're lying about where

209
00:10:46.120 --> 00:10:48.360
all that's coming from. Those are the options.

210
00:10:48.399 --> 00:10:51.120
There's no one hundred mil. I mean, maybe he was.

211
00:10:51.200 --> 00:10:53.039
They also made it seem like he was the first

212
00:10:53.200 --> 00:10:55.279
ever I mean maybe not the first, but they said

213
00:10:55.279 --> 00:10:57.240
he was like the one of the companies to really

214
00:10:57.279 --> 00:11:00.399
sell like pill Form Deliver, which may be true. Who

215
00:11:00.440 --> 00:11:02.559
knows how long the company's been around, If it's in

216
00:11:02.600 --> 00:11:04.440
the early two case, maybe he was one of the

217
00:11:04.440 --> 00:11:10.240
first pill Form but to like popular and so like,

218
00:11:10.399 --> 00:11:13.240
I could see him making one hundred mel it's definitely possible.

219
00:11:13.279 --> 00:11:16.480
Like, but they said two hundred and twenty mil a year.

220
00:11:17.039 --> 00:11:18.600
I thought one hundred mil. Either way, I think it's

221
00:11:18.600 --> 00:11:21.720
still possible. Like he was the one of the most

222
00:11:21.840 --> 00:11:24.039
viral guys, you know, like if you look at the

223
00:11:24.080 --> 00:11:27.360
history of virality, he's he's on the Mount Rushmore right now,

224
00:11:27.639 --> 00:11:29.639
him fucking sketch, you know.

225
00:11:30.440 --> 00:11:32.320
But he surely didn't do that by himself. It was

226
00:11:32.360 --> 00:11:34.080
the market for people that took him there.

227
00:11:34.159 --> 00:11:36.840
Yeah, which which you would think now, And I know

228
00:11:37.159 --> 00:11:39.519
that's where it gets complicated because they're like half pulling

229
00:11:39.600 --> 00:11:42.399
the doctor, you know, the the Wizard of oz Vale.

230
00:11:42.840 --> 00:11:44.519
They're half pulling it, but I think they're pulling it

231
00:11:44.519 --> 00:11:48.080
into another scam. But like if you were ever a

232
00:11:48.120 --> 00:11:50.919
fan of him, you just can't be Like the whole

233
00:11:50.960 --> 00:11:54.360
thing was calculated, right, And that's where the internet's obviously going, right,

234
00:11:54.440 --> 00:11:57.679
Like you go scroll through only the Ashton whatever, talk

235
00:11:57.679 --> 00:12:01.559
about virility, the morning routine guy. Oh that guy right,

236
00:12:01.799 --> 00:12:03.440
Like you're telling me he doesn't have a marketing team

237
00:12:03.440 --> 00:12:06.000
behind him. Oh, probably right, Like it's almost guaranteed. These

238
00:12:06.000 --> 00:12:08.720
guys are just like turning into puppets. You're turning into

239
00:12:08.759 --> 00:12:11.440
like bad actors because you don't actually have to act,

240
00:12:11.679 --> 00:12:14.440
because it's more edited than a TV show, you know,

241
00:12:14.559 --> 00:12:17.120
like to be Instagram and TikTok good and even said

242
00:12:17.480 --> 00:12:20.519
one hundred takes for a story, you know, and like

243
00:12:20.559 --> 00:12:23.000
I'm biased because we're obviously from like the frontier of

244
00:12:23.039 --> 00:12:25.759
this game. But like, I think you should have a skill.

245
00:12:26.080 --> 00:12:30.559
You should be able to talk, not mumble, not you know, stutter,

246
00:12:30.679 --> 00:12:33.279
and not take one hundred takes to be a YouTuber,

247
00:12:33.559 --> 00:12:37.039
because being a YouTuber is just talking, and so like

248
00:12:37.080 --> 00:12:39.039
you don't even have the one skill it takes to

249
00:12:39.080 --> 00:12:42.639
be who you want to be. Yeah, maybe, And I'm

250
00:12:42.720 --> 00:12:45.679
trust me, you know, if we have any haters, I'm

251
00:12:45.679 --> 00:12:47.879
not jealous. Like I don't want I don't want a

252
00:12:47.919 --> 00:12:50.279
million followers anymore. I want to get off the internet.

253
00:12:50.320 --> 00:12:53.519
But like it just seems so lame to me, you know,

254
00:12:53.919 --> 00:12:56.440
like when you go to the NBA, you should.

255
00:12:56.159 --> 00:12:58.159
Be able to dribble a ball.

256
00:12:57.679 --> 00:13:00.159
You know, like if you're trying to be an online personality,

257
00:13:00.519 --> 00:13:03.000
you should be insanely unique. Okay, he kind of has that.

258
00:13:03.039 --> 00:13:05.320
He's a fucking weirdo, and you should be able to

259
00:13:05.559 --> 00:13:09.639
communicate or entertain. He can't, and he proved he can't.

260
00:13:09.679 --> 00:13:11.840
Yeah, I mean, and most of what you saw from

261
00:13:12.000 --> 00:13:15.240
him looks like WWE promos.

262
00:13:15.440 --> 00:13:16.480
Yeah, and they weren't even good.

263
00:13:16.559 --> 00:13:19.080
That's why they were not, Like they're so edited.

264
00:13:19.000 --> 00:13:20.679
Now we know it took one hundred takes and they

265
00:13:20.720 --> 00:13:23.720
were bad. Yeah. Where again, people talk shit on ww

266
00:13:23.919 --> 00:13:26.120
for being fake or whatever, But we've known many of them,

267
00:13:26.480 --> 00:13:28.879
and I've watched it when I was a kid. They're talented.

268
00:13:29.080 --> 00:13:29.320
Yeah.

269
00:13:29.440 --> 00:13:34.919
It's often live right and sometimes edits sometimes unscripted in

270
00:13:34.919 --> 00:13:38.240
the sense that they don't get handed what to say, right,

271
00:13:38.279 --> 00:13:40.879
they just have a general flow to the story and

272
00:13:40.919 --> 00:13:43.559
they go up there and say funny shit, right, you know,

273
00:13:43.960 --> 00:13:47.120
like John seen a stone Cold stone Cold? If you

274
00:13:47.159 --> 00:13:49.399
go watch stone Cold in the Rock, go back and

275
00:13:49.440 --> 00:13:53.240
forth and highlight clips on YouTube. They're hilarious and it's

276
00:13:53.279 --> 00:13:54.279
all off the cuff. Yeah.

277
00:13:54.320 --> 00:13:56.240
Both of them are really good at improv, which really

278
00:13:56.240 --> 00:13:56.639
what happens.

279
00:13:56.799 --> 00:13:59.159
And they're going back and forth the insults that they

280
00:13:59.279 --> 00:14:01.559
walk the line because they know they're on live TV.

281
00:14:01.720 --> 00:14:05.240
But they're still funny and they're still like good. Where Yeah,

282
00:14:05.320 --> 00:14:07.039
how are you going to be like a lead on

283
00:14:07.080 --> 00:14:09.399
this generation of content and you're not even good at

284
00:14:09.399 --> 00:14:10.080
making content?

285
00:14:10.720 --> 00:14:13.559
And yet millions of people followed him and hung on

286
00:14:13.639 --> 00:14:17.519
his every word, and and it was you know, we've

287
00:14:17.519 --> 00:14:20.440
been talking about cults recently, and this one doesn't exactly

288
00:14:20.480 --> 00:14:23.440
fit in there, but there are definitely some cultic, cultish

289
00:14:23.759 --> 00:14:26.080
behavior around.

290
00:14:25.840 --> 00:14:28.240
Him, cold adjacent, Yeah.

291
00:14:28.000 --> 00:14:32.000
And like aggrandizing himself.

292
00:14:32.960 --> 00:14:34.960
No, he's for sure thing one.

293
00:14:35.200 --> 00:14:38.480
And then the way that people just sucked up sucked

294
00:14:38.600 --> 00:14:43.519
up to him. It's you know, I mean all of

295
00:14:43.600 --> 00:14:45.639
us who've been in the content game in the fitness

296
00:14:45.639 --> 00:14:48.840
world for a while have stories where people come up

297
00:14:48.879 --> 00:14:50.840
to and say, hey, your content meant a lot to

298
00:14:50.879 --> 00:14:53.240
me at a time that was difficult in my life.

299
00:14:53.320 --> 00:14:56.240
It really you know, it was kind of a lifeline.

300
00:14:55.879 --> 00:14:59.440
I identified with things you said or who you were

301
00:14:59.559 --> 00:15:02.759
or whatever, and that's great. And then you you just say,

302
00:15:02.840 --> 00:15:04.840
you know, you feel good a little good about yourself

303
00:15:04.840 --> 00:15:06.879
for a minute, and then you move on and you

304
00:15:06.879 --> 00:15:09.519
don't make it your whole personality. Yeah, you know, if

305
00:15:09.559 --> 00:15:12.360
you're if you're halfway saying.

306
00:15:12.879 --> 00:15:15.320
You think the ick for me is broken down into

307
00:15:15.360 --> 00:15:19.200
two pillars. It's how calculated it was, which is fine,

308
00:15:19.480 --> 00:15:22.279
right business life being calculated. It's good right having a

309
00:15:22.320 --> 00:15:25.279
plan in executing, but it's the it's the calculation of

310
00:15:25.320 --> 00:15:28.840
a scammer. Yeah, and even on let's even say base level.

311
00:15:28.919 --> 00:15:31.480
Let's say he is a change demands from GenZ, the

312
00:15:31.519 --> 00:15:36.360
base level steroid scam where he's lying, staring folks in

313
00:15:36.399 --> 00:15:37.399
the eye.

314
00:15:37.399 --> 00:15:39.360
Spending twelve thousand dollars a month.

315
00:15:39.120 --> 00:15:41.759
On logan Paul was chis and now they should have

316
00:15:41.919 --> 00:15:45.159
let his rent go further. They just let the rant barely.

317
00:15:45.200 --> 00:15:46.720
But he's pissed. He's like, bro, you looked at me

318
00:15:46.759 --> 00:15:48.639
man the man in the eye and told me you

319
00:15:48.679 --> 00:15:53.039
know you're lying, Like it is true, Like you're fucking again.

320
00:15:53.080 --> 00:15:55.320
It just feels like an eighteen year old talking like

321
00:15:55.360 --> 00:15:58.639
you're forty five. You're gonna go on. At that point

322
00:15:58.799 --> 00:16:02.480
was probably top ten cats in the world. Impulsive and

323
00:16:02.559 --> 00:16:05.879
even still they do obviously very well. And you're just

324
00:16:05.919 --> 00:16:10.720
gonna just spit bullshit, you know, and just not care,

325
00:16:11.480 --> 00:16:14.840
just not care it sucks. And yeah, again, like let alone,

326
00:16:14.960 --> 00:16:17.559
how many kids are watching, how many seventeen year olds

327
00:16:17.559 --> 00:16:20.360
he's got just fucking go and eating cowcok on Friday,

328
00:16:20.919 --> 00:16:24.000
just insane, insane activities.

329
00:16:25.200 --> 00:16:30.879
And if you're a particular kind of influencer, you don't

330
00:16:30.879 --> 00:16:33.360
even have to be lying about steroids. You could be

331
00:16:33.399 --> 00:16:35.960
telling the truth one way or the other, and all

332
00:16:36.000 --> 00:16:38.759
the other behaviors are shady as fuck.

333
00:16:38.840 --> 00:16:41.000
Yeah, I think, you know, I think the steroids only

334
00:16:41.039 --> 00:16:43.159
bad in this case because he lied about it, so,

335
00:16:43.679 --> 00:16:47.279
you know, so confidently and for so long. Which is

336
00:16:47.320 --> 00:16:51.120
everyone again, which is ninety percent more people talk about

337
00:16:51.159 --> 00:16:53.399
their steroid use, and some, in my opinion, talk about

338
00:16:53.440 --> 00:16:56.039
it too much and turns into promotion really quickly. Right,

339
00:16:56.360 --> 00:16:58.559
But there's still obviously a huge gap of people that

340
00:16:58.600 --> 00:17:02.200
are using to making sureless pictures again talentless, and then

341
00:17:02.200 --> 00:17:05.480
building a following and selling shit based on pure looks.

342
00:17:07.039 --> 00:17:09.279
But it's just yeah, it's just how he went about it.

343
00:17:09.440 --> 00:17:11.599
And then again like to me, and you can call

344
00:17:11.599 --> 00:17:12.960
me a hater all you want, but he just seems

345
00:17:13.000 --> 00:17:16.599
completely talentless. They even showed the very first shot of

346
00:17:16.640 --> 00:17:19.480
the thing. He's pulling a f four P fifty with

347
00:17:19.559 --> 00:17:24.119
a brace on, right, he's doing like a sledge track. Yeah,

348
00:17:24.160 --> 00:17:27.160
and his homies are pushing the trush in the track. Yeah.

349
00:17:27.640 --> 00:17:30.000
And I'm not saying he's not a bad ass, you know, like, yeah,

350
00:17:30.039 --> 00:17:32.480
he's probably walked him out with one hundred pound kettle

351
00:17:32.480 --> 00:17:33.960
bill shit that I don't want to do, and probably

352
00:17:34.000 --> 00:17:37.400
couldn't do. Yeah, he's probably done some physical activities that

353
00:17:37.480 --> 00:17:42.039
are very difficult, but like he's not like actually lifting

354
00:17:42.079 --> 00:17:44.200
that much. I've seen him squat you know, maybe squat's

355
00:17:44.200 --> 00:17:47.079
four hundred, maybe bench three fifteen. You know, you got

356
00:17:47.079 --> 00:17:48.920
that much juice through you should be some kind of

357
00:17:48.920 --> 00:17:52.079
an athlete, and then you're faking half of them. Yeah,

358
00:17:52.720 --> 00:17:54.880
like if and that's why, you know, shout out to

359
00:17:54.880 --> 00:17:58.039
guys like Larry Wheels and even Bradley Martin and some

360
00:17:58.079 --> 00:17:59.640
of these other ones that got hate back in the

361
00:17:59.720 --> 00:18:03.279
day for doing like gimmicky ish things. At least they're

362
00:18:03.279 --> 00:18:05.640
real athletes and they're not using fake plates. Yeah, like

363
00:18:05.680 --> 00:18:08.960
Brad's fucking strong. Larry's clearly strong. He's done on the platform,

364
00:18:09.000 --> 00:18:10.920
But like Brad's a strong dude too. You know, like

365
00:18:11.319 --> 00:18:17.160
at least there's that string of somewhat authenticity with those

366
00:18:17.160 --> 00:18:22.200
type of guys and liver King there's, right, Like why

367
00:18:22.279 --> 00:18:27.440
do you lean towards a certain athlete or rap or whatever.

368
00:18:27.480 --> 00:18:30.319
Often it's because there's like some kind of authenticity or YouTuber,

369
00:18:30.759 --> 00:18:32.880
some kind of authenticity, like you said that you relate

370
00:18:32.920 --> 00:18:34.960
to whether it's a good time, bad time, or even

371
00:18:35.000 --> 00:18:36.960
just in general Oh, I like that dude, because he

372
00:18:37.000 --> 00:18:38.799
looks this way, he dresses that way, and he's into this,

373
00:18:38.839 --> 00:18:41.119
and I'm into those things. You know, there's something like

374
00:18:41.759 --> 00:18:45.160
besides liver King, like to me, he's more of a

375
00:18:45.160 --> 00:18:48.599
meme than a content creator. But it seems like and

376
00:18:48.680 --> 00:18:52.680
maybe it's because we're two in this and maybe it's

377
00:18:52.720 --> 00:18:54.359
a documentary. I don't know, but it seems like a

378
00:18:54.960 --> 00:18:57.079
you know, they made it seem like seventy eighty percent

379
00:18:57.119 --> 00:19:01.119
of his followers were fans. Were in my head, it

380
00:19:01.200 --> 00:19:03.839
was like, seventy eighty percent followers are just the long

381
00:19:03.880 --> 00:19:04.319
for the meme.

382
00:19:05.279 --> 00:19:05.400
Oh.

383
00:19:05.559 --> 00:19:07.839
Possibly, but I don't know what's real because obviously he's

384
00:19:07.839 --> 00:19:09.640
selling products, so like some people are buying.

385
00:19:09.880 --> 00:19:13.400
Yeah, but I mean theoretically he was selling product before.

386
00:19:13.920 --> 00:19:17.240
What I didn't see is like what kind of sales

387
00:19:17.279 --> 00:19:20.640
increase happened when he became this big thing. And then

388
00:19:20.839 --> 00:19:23.200
there was a little bit about there's like a twenty

389
00:19:23.240 --> 00:19:28.319
five million dollar lawsuit from his like a class action

390
00:19:28.519 --> 00:19:33.960
of his customers who felt like they were lied to.

391
00:19:34.119 --> 00:19:37.119
Yeah, fraud, Yeah that works.

392
00:19:36.960 --> 00:19:40.519
But like we didn't get any of that at all.

393
00:19:40.559 --> 00:19:43.359
And I think another structurally, one of the big problems

394
00:19:43.400 --> 00:19:47.039
with this thing is that there was way too much

395
00:19:47.240 --> 00:19:52.640
set up and not enough coverage of the fallout, Like

396
00:19:52.680 --> 00:19:54.799
you were talking about the different clips from different people,

397
00:19:54.880 --> 00:19:56.960
Like there could have been more of that, and they

398
00:19:56.960 --> 00:19:59.079
could have put him more. They should they should have

399
00:19:59.119 --> 00:20:04.720
shown his people who eventually were you know, willing to

400
00:20:04.720 --> 00:20:07.400
say negative things about him and not work for him anymore. Yeah,

401
00:20:08.559 --> 00:20:12.480
you know, being more specific and or confronting him. Because

402
00:20:12.519 --> 00:20:14.640
the fucking cameras were there, right, I mean.

403
00:20:14.559 --> 00:20:16.599
Yeah, yeah, maybe they're not Yeah, maybe they're not speakers.

404
00:20:16.640 --> 00:20:18.519
That's why I think, you know, that's my why my

405
00:20:18.599 --> 00:20:22.119
hypothesis was. My hypothesis is like they build him up,

406
00:20:22.240 --> 00:20:24.519
say how awesome he is and grows so fast and

407
00:20:24.559 --> 00:20:26.759
companies making a hundred million, and you're right they you know,

408
00:20:26.880 --> 00:20:28.400
business wise, would have been cool to know what they

409
00:20:28.400 --> 00:20:30.440
were doing before he blew up. And then you hear

410
00:20:30.519 --> 00:20:33.000
one hundred million, two hundred million a year, and then like,

411
00:20:33.240 --> 00:20:35.720
oh he lied to Logan Paul, and then it's straight

412
00:20:35.759 --> 00:20:39.079
into he's already clean. Six months later he confessed. Yeah,

413
00:20:39.160 --> 00:20:41.720
six months later, he changed his whole life. Six months later,

414
00:20:41.720 --> 00:20:44.559
he's talking to strawberries. Six months later, you know, like

415
00:20:44.960 --> 00:20:50.160
just just every he's been a scammer since he was seventeen, admittedly. Yeah,

416
00:20:50.200 --> 00:20:52.000
and that's why they put it in there, right, like,

417
00:20:52.079 --> 00:20:55.160
cause he's showing that basically since seventeen till now whatever age.

418
00:20:55.200 --> 00:20:58.359
I'm just saying, forty five, forty five, he's still scamming, right,

419
00:20:58.400 --> 00:21:02.240
with steroids and lies. And and then six months all

420
00:21:02.240 --> 00:21:02.839
that's cleansed.

421
00:21:02.880 --> 00:21:05.319
You're just changed, man. He looks no different.

422
00:21:05.640 --> 00:21:08.880
No, yeah, yeah, he lost five pounds.

423
00:21:08.440 --> 00:21:12.200
And uh, the Time magazine review points out the fact

424
00:21:12.200 --> 00:21:13.200
that he went back on.

425
00:21:13.680 --> 00:21:16.640
Yeah, he at some point he admitted that for sure.

426
00:21:16.680 --> 00:21:18.519
He said he got back on because obviously if you're

427
00:21:19.079 --> 00:21:21.400
juicing that hard and then go to zero, you're gonna

428
00:21:21.400 --> 00:21:25.039
feel terrible. So and then he's back on TRT, which

429
00:21:25.079 --> 00:21:27.960
is the new you know, that's the new cop out

430
00:21:28.000 --> 00:21:30.799
for taking shit, which is literally everyone on the internet,

431
00:21:30.920 --> 00:21:36.000
every natty twenty four year old instagrammer claims TRT. I'm like,

432
00:21:36.039 --> 00:21:41.200
you're twenty fucking four. Yeah, and supposedly you work out

433
00:21:41.440 --> 00:21:45.039
and supposedly you eat healthy, you don't need TRT Like

434
00:21:45.039 --> 00:21:48.240
that's there'll be three percent of folks will need it,

435
00:21:48.359 --> 00:21:51.599
right because of genetics and you know, messy and all

436
00:21:51.640 --> 00:21:54.519
these people fucking needed hgh because they were message five

437
00:21:54.640 --> 00:21:57.119
three at eighteen or whatever. You know, like, yes, there

438
00:21:57.119 --> 00:22:02.359
are some real, you know, indocrine issues, but every instagramer

439
00:22:02.400 --> 00:22:05.319
has got adam in twenty four. Like, you're just all

440
00:22:05.480 --> 00:22:10.440
such fucking liars. I just don't understand why, Like how

441
00:22:10.480 --> 00:22:13.279
big is your ego that you gotta lie about shit

442
00:22:13.400 --> 00:22:17.279
like that? And clearly liver Kings's through the fucking roof. Yeah,

443
00:22:17.319 --> 00:22:19.839
you know, like it's all all of this is pure

444
00:22:20.000 --> 00:22:27.480
ego driven mania just to be popular. Yeah it sucks. Yeah,

445
00:22:27.599 --> 00:22:31.000
it just made me feel so grumpy because it's a

446
00:22:31.200 --> 00:22:34.759
He's an accumulation of the downfall of social media.

447
00:22:35.119 --> 00:22:38.440
Everything that I hate about is the fitness space and

448
00:22:38.519 --> 00:22:39.160
social media.

449
00:22:39.279 --> 00:22:42.480
No, he's literally encapsulated in this guy. This this movie

450
00:22:42.640 --> 00:22:44.279
is about what's wrong with social media. And I'll be

451
00:22:44.319 --> 00:22:45.799
seeing guys who are like kind of new on the

452
00:22:45.799 --> 00:22:48.319
scene again to us because we've done it whatever a

453
00:22:48.359 --> 00:22:51.359
long time, right, a long time, yeah, literal decades from then,

454
00:22:51.559 --> 00:22:53.279
and have friends that have done a decades and we're

455
00:22:53.319 --> 00:22:54.839
friends with some of the new guys. You know, it's

456
00:22:54.880 --> 00:22:57.599
not like I'm just old grumpy you get off my porch, guy,

457
00:22:57.599 --> 00:22:59.640
But like, because I'm friends with somebody JP and other

458
00:22:59.720 --> 00:23:01.640
people to come up in New Times lean Beef Patty.

459
00:23:01.680 --> 00:23:05.160
I think some people are doing social media wonderfully. I

460
00:23:05.240 --> 00:23:06.960
forgot who it was. I think it was literally last

461
00:23:07.039 --> 00:23:09.599
night too. I'm scrolling around and someone's going off about

462
00:23:09.599 --> 00:23:12.359
how social media is now you know bad. I'm like, bro,

463
00:23:12.599 --> 00:23:15.839
it's been like like, you know, as soon as people

464
00:23:15.880 --> 00:23:18.160
knew you could start to make Buco bucks, you know,

465
00:23:18.559 --> 00:23:21.920
and you're starting to get love from fans, all the

466
00:23:22.000 --> 00:23:24.519
ego driven come and then when the ego driven come,

467
00:23:24.559 --> 00:23:26.839
they're going to do anything else. Same as Hollywood, right,

468
00:23:26.880 --> 00:23:29.880
Like people say Hollywood's scum, Well why because you know

469
00:23:29.920 --> 00:23:31.720
it's how you got rich and famous in the nineties.

470
00:23:31.920 --> 00:23:34.119
So it's going to take a certain personality to move

471
00:23:34.160 --> 00:23:37.599
from Oklahoma to LA to try to chase that dream.

472
00:23:37.720 --> 00:23:40.240
And then the top percent of those egos make that dream,

473
00:23:40.640 --> 00:23:42.079
and then of course the industry is going to be

474
00:23:42.079 --> 00:23:44.000
scum and we're just stuck there. He's just so yeah,

475
00:23:44.000 --> 00:23:45.279
he's gross. He's gross.

476
00:23:45.839 --> 00:23:49.839
And they talked about it a little bit that like

477
00:23:50.000 --> 00:23:54.119
once you reach a certain level, if you're not able

478
00:23:54.160 --> 00:23:57.240
to maintain that, if you're like if your view count

479
00:23:57.359 --> 00:24:01.079
or your followers or whatever. It doesn't doesn't stay up there.

480
00:24:01.880 --> 00:24:03.880
Then you start to do it more and more outrageous

481
00:24:03.880 --> 00:24:07.880
things just to catch attention, right, and that becomes the spiral.

482
00:24:07.920 --> 00:24:11.400
You can't, I mean, you cannot sustain that for forever.

483
00:24:11.559 --> 00:24:15.000
I've obviously been into streaming since like twenty fifteen sixteen myself,

484
00:24:15.000 --> 00:24:18.039
but like streaming's taken off and IRL streaming in particular,

485
00:24:18.079 --> 00:24:19.720
people are just logging on the road and how do

486
00:24:19.759 --> 00:24:21.680
you give views? You do crazy things or talk to

487
00:24:21.720 --> 00:24:24.079
crazy people, and some of them do it great, you know,

488
00:24:24.119 --> 00:24:26.839
shout out. My boy Agent. Agent will go to Walmart

489
00:24:27.000 --> 00:24:29.440
live and he's obviously very popular, so people are talking

490
00:24:29.440 --> 00:24:31.400
to him and he has fun fan interactions that are

491
00:24:31.480 --> 00:24:33.799
very innocent, but they're off the cuff because he doesn't

492
00:24:33.799 --> 00:24:35.880
know he's gonna meet and right, he's charismatic, so they're

493
00:24:35.880 --> 00:24:40.440
fun and funny. Some kids. You know, who's a Johnny Somali,

494
00:24:40.480 --> 00:24:42.240
I don't know if you know him, but the other

495
00:24:42.279 --> 00:24:45.200
one's Vitally. There's two dudes that are in prison too

496
00:24:45.599 --> 00:24:50.200
overseas for disrespecting laws of local government. I think Vitally's

497
00:24:50.200 --> 00:24:52.359
looking at six to ten years. Who's an og YouTuber

498
00:24:52.440 --> 00:24:55.319
six to ten years in like a Philippines prison, maybe

499
00:24:55.319 --> 00:24:57.720
it's Thailand. And Johnny Simali is some I don't even

500
00:24:57.720 --> 00:24:59.480
know who he is. I just see clips. But he's

501
00:24:59.519 --> 00:25:02.200
another one that it's like in prison overseas because he's

502
00:25:02.200 --> 00:25:06.400
trying to get some outlandish reaction and it sucks. But

503
00:25:06.519 --> 00:25:09.680
you know, this is coming to a pin where I

504
00:25:09.720 --> 00:25:11.880
think it was this week at least the first major

505
00:25:11.920 --> 00:25:13.799
one I heard about. There was a TikToker who I

506
00:25:14.240 --> 00:25:17.839
believe it's a hair salon. There's a couple examples I

507
00:25:17.880 --> 00:25:20.440
have right now to talk about exactly the accumulation of

508
00:25:20.480 --> 00:25:23.960
all the bullshit we're talking about with pure fucking yeah,

509
00:25:24.000 --> 00:25:25.880
a lot real life examples. I think she got a

510
00:25:26.000 --> 00:25:28.720
drive by shooting because she was live and she died. Yeah,

511
00:25:28.759 --> 00:25:31.200
I saw that she was. She's a hairstylist or whatever,

512
00:25:31.359 --> 00:25:34.880
just TikToker and she's just streaming and as far as

513
00:25:34.960 --> 00:25:36.880
I know, she wasn't doing anything bad, like, she wasn't

514
00:25:36.880 --> 00:25:39.880
antagonizing and she got fucked up. Another one is I'll

515
00:25:39.920 --> 00:25:44.000
read the tweet on the on the nose to give

516
00:25:44.039 --> 00:25:46.839
an example of how all this is just like, look, man,

517
00:25:46.880 --> 00:25:48.319
I don't know what you guys believe in. But you

518
00:25:48.359 --> 00:25:49.759
want to call it the devil, you want to call

519
00:25:49.799 --> 00:25:53.079
it bad. I just think it's bad, like Steve will

520
00:25:53.079 --> 00:25:56.599
do it. Who's one of the right another Mount Rushmore

521
00:25:56.680 --> 00:26:00.599
esque guy of content creation for and shout out to Steve,

522
00:26:00.599 --> 00:26:03.319
who's been relevant since they took away his YouTube channel

523
00:26:03.559 --> 00:26:06.960
and even still remained relevant. And I've been right next

524
00:26:06.960 --> 00:26:08.920
to him. I've seen him interact with people, He's worked

525
00:26:08.920 --> 00:26:11.279
out in the gym I go to in Vegas, seems

526
00:26:11.319 --> 00:26:14.440
and everyone I know who knows him kind, kind man,

527
00:26:14.640 --> 00:26:17.599
like a generally good dude. He says, I got twelve cars,

528
00:26:17.640 --> 00:26:21.039
eight houses, and an airplane. Yet I'm super unhappy. He

529
00:26:21.160 --> 00:26:23.759
just tweets that yesterday I outn't know where damn. And

530
00:26:23.799 --> 00:26:26.440
you're like, yeah, man, cause you're surrounded by even if

531
00:26:26.480 --> 00:26:29.440
you are a good dude, you're surrounded by fuckheads. You're

532
00:26:29.480 --> 00:26:32.599
surrounded by egos, and you're chasing things that just don't matter,

533
00:26:33.160 --> 00:26:35.200
you know. And I like Steve a lot, again, like

534
00:26:35.240 --> 00:26:37.960
I've heard only good things about him, but his content,

535
00:26:38.119 --> 00:26:40.559
similar to like a Liver King, is based on nothing,

536
00:26:41.319 --> 00:26:43.680
Like I don't believe Liver King's bullshit when he says like, yeah,

537
00:26:43.720 --> 00:26:46.440
I'm really just trying to help people, you know, cause

538
00:26:46.480 --> 00:26:47.960
like the first thing he said is I'm really just

539
00:26:47.960 --> 00:26:50.359
trying to get a million followers. Then the story goes

540
00:26:50.400 --> 00:26:52.279
to I'm really trying to help people because I think

541
00:26:52.319 --> 00:26:54.599
these tenants are good and they help my kids. Like again,

542
00:26:54.680 --> 00:26:58.839
he's just feeding his own bullshit. And I don't think

543
00:26:58.839 --> 00:27:00.839
Steve is on any omission, but Steve is a little

544
00:27:00.839 --> 00:27:03.720
bit of shock factor type content. You know, he'll chug

545
00:27:03.759 --> 00:27:07.160
a bottle of vodka or whatever, very funny, very entertaining.

546
00:27:08.240 --> 00:27:11.160
But if you're just chasing things that don't matter, then

547
00:27:11.200 --> 00:27:14.119
you're gonna receive things twelve cars that don't matter. You

548
00:27:14.200 --> 00:27:16.960
only got one ass, can't be driving twelve cars. And

549
00:27:17.000 --> 00:27:20.000
then you're gonna, you know, your ultimate soul is going

550
00:27:20.079 --> 00:27:22.480
to receive things that don't matter. You're not gonna feel good.

551
00:27:22.880 --> 00:27:23.680
Yeah, you know.

552
00:27:23.839 --> 00:27:25.680
And I'm not saying that everyone has to go on

553
00:27:25.720 --> 00:27:29.000
some Gandhi life mission to be a YouTuber, but you

554
00:27:29.079 --> 00:27:32.160
gotta have something in you that moves you. Gotta have

555
00:27:32.319 --> 00:27:34.559
you know, again, some some Tony Robbins shit, but you

556
00:27:34.559 --> 00:27:37.400
gotta have some kind of real why why do you

557
00:27:37.440 --> 00:27:38.920
do this? And it could be as simple as I

558
00:27:39.079 --> 00:27:41.759
like to create, you know, in someone like a subbas

559
00:27:41.759 --> 00:27:45.400
who likes to filmography, filmography, photography and edit like that

560
00:27:45.440 --> 00:27:47.799
could be your mission. But your mission just to get

561
00:27:47.799 --> 00:27:50.759
a million followers to eat a fish in a lake

562
00:27:51.359 --> 00:27:55.799
head off, you know, to fake pulling a truck like

563
00:27:55.920 --> 00:27:57.920
it's probably gonna lead you nowhere. You're probably not gonna

564
00:27:57.920 --> 00:28:02.319
feel good. Brian, your fuckhead.

565
00:28:03.759 --> 00:28:04.960
But what do you really think, Mike?

566
00:28:05.519 --> 00:28:07.359
It made me feel so bad. It's been a long time,

567
00:28:07.599 --> 00:28:08.920
you know, I don't know. I think just as you

568
00:28:08.920 --> 00:28:10.599
get older, you feel a little bit less. Yeah, I

569
00:28:10.599 --> 00:28:12.440
know that sounds sad, but you know, like music used

570
00:28:12.480 --> 00:28:14.000
to just slap me in the face, like even a

571
00:28:14.000 --> 00:28:16.319
shit song, you kind of feel something from a shit song.

572
00:28:16.519 --> 00:28:18.359
Now I know a song is good when I feel

573
00:28:18.400 --> 00:28:22.160
something right, And like movies whatever, you know, they don't

574
00:28:22.200 --> 00:28:25.160
like feel feel rarely right. I need to see Sinners

575
00:28:25.200 --> 00:28:27.839
because I heard that makes you feel I still need

576
00:28:27.880 --> 00:28:29.839
to see it. Yeah, Carry was saying it was insane.

577
00:28:29.880 --> 00:28:32.599
Oh it's really good, and then uh, yeah, you know,

578
00:28:32.720 --> 00:28:34.640
so it's a rare piece, which is great, right. Not

579
00:28:34.720 --> 00:28:36.599
every piece of art needs to move you, and so

580
00:28:37.359 --> 00:28:39.680
no documentary if we watched have I been fucking like

581
00:28:40.319 --> 00:28:43.480
felt you know, and this dude just made me so mad.

582
00:28:43.759 --> 00:28:45.759
He made me so mad, I guess just because it

583
00:28:45.799 --> 00:28:47.519
goes against everything I've tried to build.

584
00:28:48.759 --> 00:28:50.400
Uh yeah, well yeah, just like.

585
00:28:52.839 --> 00:28:53.519
It's so close to.

586
00:28:54.000 --> 00:28:57.720
Sensibility is just different. This is why we're not liver

587
00:28:57.839 --> 00:29:01.119
King's or as as popular as we used to be

588
00:29:01.240 --> 00:29:03.079
back in the day, is that we don't we're not

589
00:29:03.279 --> 00:29:06.279
willing to do the performative stuff. I really, yeah, I

590
00:29:06.319 --> 00:29:08.200
wish in some ways that I was, but I'm not.

591
00:29:08.640 --> 00:29:09.359
I can't see.

592
00:29:09.400 --> 00:29:11.319
I don't even know if it's that because like, yeah,

593
00:29:11.359 --> 00:29:13.880
I again it's like a hater, But it's not a jealousy.

594
00:29:13.920 --> 00:29:15.839
I swear to god it's not because I literally do

595
00:29:15.880 --> 00:29:17.519
want to get off the internet in the next you know,

596
00:29:17.559 --> 00:29:21.960
three years. Like but but he it's the fact that

597
00:29:21.960 --> 00:29:25.559
that the bullshit meter is a ten out of ten

598
00:29:25.880 --> 00:29:29.039
and that's the number one winner. Yeah, you know, that's

599
00:29:29.079 --> 00:29:31.720
what pisses me off, where like I would much rather

600
00:29:31.759 --> 00:29:33.640
have like all these little homies I know that are

601
00:29:33.640 --> 00:29:35.519
trying to like teach people how to lift or you

602
00:29:35.519 --> 00:29:38.519
know whatever, like the Omars, the Allens, who have had

603
00:29:38.519 --> 00:29:42.759
a great success like they deserve that level of success

604
00:29:43.440 --> 00:29:46.359
and the barts, but they they don't get it because

605
00:29:46.359 --> 00:29:48.799
they're not on the bullshit meter. Yeah, you know, And

606
00:29:48.960 --> 00:29:51.599
sure you can blame human nature, you can blame social media,

607
00:29:51.640 --> 00:29:53.359
you can blame whatever. I don't know what it is,

608
00:29:53.400 --> 00:29:56.039
but yeah, like, why is the bullshit win or even

609
00:29:56.079 --> 00:29:58.079
the other Brian Johnson. I told you there's a meme

610
00:29:58.119 --> 00:29:59.759
flowing around I got to find about just hating on

611
00:30:00.240 --> 00:30:03.640
Johnson's but the Live Forever Brian Johnson. Yeah, again, I

612
00:30:03.640 --> 00:30:06.400
don't think that guy's he's he turned fucking weird.

613
00:30:06.640 --> 00:30:09.559
You know, he's got a weird personality disorder.

614
00:30:09.279 --> 00:30:11.799
Especially versus again, those clips of him when he was

615
00:30:11.799 --> 00:30:14.720
a tech guy seemed very normal dad, and then whatever

616
00:30:14.759 --> 00:30:17.559
he's doing now, something happened. Yeah, Veganism made him crazy,

617
00:30:17.559 --> 00:30:21.200
something made him fucking crazy. But like even that guy, like,

618
00:30:22.079 --> 00:30:24.880
I just don't think his mission is helping as many

619
00:30:24.880 --> 00:30:28.400
people for the level of popularity he gets. But you

620
00:30:28.519 --> 00:30:30.839
just got to do dumb, crazy shit to be popular

621
00:30:31.240 --> 00:30:33.960
and that sucks. That sucks when like real shit doesn't

622
00:30:34.160 --> 00:30:37.400
work anymore. Yeah, where early social media felt like it

623
00:30:37.440 --> 00:30:40.039
did the skateboarder guy we covered, Yeah, yeah, he's a

624
00:30:40.079 --> 00:30:41.960
fucking weirdo, but he's just trying to teach you how

625
00:30:42.000 --> 00:30:44.759
to kick flip. Yeah, you know what I mean, he's

626
00:30:44.759 --> 00:30:46.359
just trying to teach you. And the sure there's still

627
00:30:46.400 --> 00:30:48.200
some good. I don't want to be all negative. It

628
00:30:48.319 --> 00:30:51.279
seems like who knows. It seems like Jimmy mister beasts

629
00:30:51.319 --> 00:30:53.519
is a good dude and he's doing cool, big shit

630
00:30:53.720 --> 00:30:57.759
right now. People said, who said it? It was some comedians,

631
00:30:57.799 --> 00:31:00.559
Like we know, everyone knows in twenty years is Jimmy

632
00:31:00.720 --> 00:31:02.599
mister beet is gonna be the villain? Like, you know,

633
00:31:02.680 --> 00:31:05.559
in twenty years, something's good at third but you know

634
00:31:05.680 --> 00:31:10.119
he's going he's giving people fucking free legs. He's he's

635
00:31:10.200 --> 00:31:13.359
curing blindness, like he literally is like that's fucking cool.

636
00:31:14.039 --> 00:31:17.359
He's literally you know, like I know he's getting paid

637
00:31:17.359 --> 00:31:19.119
for the views or whatever, but he's putting in real

638
00:31:19.160 --> 00:31:21.920
cash to get real prosthetics and he made like one

639
00:31:22.000 --> 00:31:24.720
hundred people walk. Like he's doing good shit. You know,

640
00:31:24.920 --> 00:31:27.920
even if it is semi weird and scammy and you know,

641
00:31:27.960 --> 00:31:31.079
whatever performative, at least there's a good outcome. Yeah.

642
00:31:31.119 --> 00:31:34.200
I listened to a podcast last week. I think it

643
00:31:34.240 --> 00:31:37.880
was last week an interview with the head of YouTube

644
00:31:38.039 --> 00:31:40.359
talking about mister Beast and some of the other creators

645
00:31:40.359 --> 00:31:43.799
there and like it was so politic, but he did

646
00:31:43.839 --> 00:31:45.880
say good things about him personally.

647
00:31:45.960 --> 00:31:48.359
That's what everyone says. But then you don't know too

648
00:31:48.359 --> 00:31:50.799
because you're only hearing it from other top end influencers.

649
00:31:50.799 --> 00:31:52.440
And it's a game, like you're not gonna go publicly

650
00:31:52.480 --> 00:31:54.680
and talk shit like I do, y you know, because

651
00:31:54.799 --> 00:31:57.359
it makes you look bad. Dude. I think they said

652
00:31:57.359 --> 00:32:03.440
five hundred mili year. Yeah, a lot of money. Yeah,

653
00:32:03.440 --> 00:32:05.359
that's him. I don't even think that's his company, Like,

654
00:32:05.400 --> 00:32:08.480
that's him who knows what his company's doing. I think

655
00:32:08.519 --> 00:32:09.480
his company's doing billions?

656
00:32:09.559 --> 00:32:15.720
Yeah, did you watch this one seas?

657
00:32:16.119 --> 00:32:16.960
Yes, yes I did.

658
00:32:17.160 --> 00:32:17.960
What's your reaction.

659
00:32:20.519 --> 00:32:23.440
I felt bad for the kids when when they when

660
00:32:23.440 --> 00:32:25.000
they killed the cow. I think it was telling Mike

661
00:32:25.079 --> 00:32:28.599
that the older son just looked like kind.

662
00:32:28.480 --> 00:32:32.119
Of scared, bro, Look you look scared? He uncomfortable. Yeah,

663
00:32:32.319 --> 00:32:34.759
what do they say afterwards when they're like honoring the ground.

664
00:32:36.039 --> 00:32:37.559
He's like honor in the ground and the dad's like

665
00:32:37.559 --> 00:32:40.400
what did you bring? And like even that stuff, Like again,

666
00:32:40.440 --> 00:32:42.119
I grew up in a weird school, Like that stuff

667
00:32:42.119 --> 00:32:44.000
doesn't even weird me out. Well weirds me out is

668
00:32:44.000 --> 00:32:46.960
the fakeness of it, you know, because I've had It's

669
00:32:47.000 --> 00:32:51.079
not just the fake I've been around. You know, I've

670
00:32:51.119 --> 00:32:54.559
seen I've had like classmates, parents cry when they see

671
00:32:54.559 --> 00:32:56.480
a dead squirrel. And you know, like I've seen all that.

672
00:32:56.519 --> 00:32:59.039
I know people like that, and and I've seen genuine

673
00:32:59.079 --> 00:33:01.680
there's no fucking camra, there's no people. And this lady's

674
00:33:01.680 --> 00:33:04.839
crying because squirrel died. She felt that squirrel's pain. You like,

675
00:33:05.119 --> 00:33:07.400
I get it, Look you do you I don't feel that,

676
00:33:07.480 --> 00:33:10.400
but I get it. This guy sitting there and they're

677
00:33:10.400 --> 00:33:13.839
sitting in a circle scene we're back where the cow

678
00:33:14.000 --> 00:33:16.559
honored his life. What did you bring? And the kids

679
00:33:16.559 --> 00:33:18.640
like trying not to like laugh, they said, like I

680
00:33:18.680 --> 00:33:21.319
brought me or something that, you know, my whole self.

681
00:33:21.759 --> 00:33:23.359
Like yeah, Like the kid like.

682
00:33:23.359 --> 00:33:26.119
Clearly looks like he's like, I'm saying this because I

683
00:33:26.200 --> 00:33:27.400
have to. There's a camera on.

684
00:33:27.519 --> 00:33:29.599
No, there's a gun that that kid's has a camera

685
00:33:29.680 --> 00:33:31.079
like it's sock with it.

686
00:33:31.119 --> 00:33:32.599
If I don't get if I don't say this, I

687
00:33:32.599 --> 00:33:34.519
don't get my dad's love for his money.

688
00:33:34.599 --> 00:33:36.599
I think that's the same scene. They're eating a nut,

689
00:33:36.640 --> 00:33:39.039
a bowl nut or the cow nut or whatever, and

690
00:33:39.440 --> 00:33:41.960
those kids look disgusted like they've never eaten that before.

691
00:33:42.160 --> 00:33:45.960
And and the whole setup of that was I might

692
00:33:46.039 --> 00:33:48.799
here the whole setup that was fucking gross too. About

693
00:33:48.799 --> 00:33:51.119
the whole like, have you checked the freezer stores? You know,

694
00:33:51.799 --> 00:33:54.720
how are we doing for meat? So yeah, clearly, like

695
00:33:54.799 --> 00:33:57.680
that's your job to keep the inventory of the meat

696
00:33:57.799 --> 00:33:59.880
and the testicles and the whatever.

697
00:33:59.680 --> 00:34:01.599
Clearly scripted. But then they go out there and it

698
00:34:01.599 --> 00:34:03.680
looks like it's the first cattle they killed.

699
00:34:04.079 --> 00:34:06.079
Yeah, it was weird how they they set it up

700
00:34:06.079 --> 00:34:08.159
where a guy shot it or did he shoot it?

701
00:34:08.199 --> 00:34:11.960
Someone shot and they started fucking running after it. I

702
00:34:12.000 --> 00:34:13.719
was like, bro, what the fuck is this dude.

703
00:34:13.800 --> 00:34:16.360
Some of the early montages were so weird too, Like

704
00:34:16.440 --> 00:34:19.440
clearly they're trying to build up the Instagram persona into

705
00:34:19.480 --> 00:34:22.039
the Netflix to set it, but like just walking through

706
00:34:22.079 --> 00:34:24.599
the forest, you know, in a fucking red cameras that

707
00:34:24.639 --> 00:34:27.639
you know, fucking zoomed in, like just so weird. It's

708
00:34:27.719 --> 00:34:30.800
just so weird the whole thing. And I'm told we

709
00:34:31.039 --> 00:34:33.280
I think we've covered a few definitely, and they are good.

710
00:34:33.320 --> 00:34:36.840
They're really good at storytelling in general, especially the sports ones.

711
00:34:36.880 --> 00:34:38.480
You know, I think we did Malice in the Palace,

712
00:34:38.480 --> 00:34:41.760
which is a great story and still very iconic fight

713
00:34:41.840 --> 00:34:45.159
in the NBA, and that is just a more interview story,

714
00:34:45.199 --> 00:34:49.079
interview story where this one felt That's why, again my hypothesis,

715
00:34:49.119 --> 00:34:51.599
this one felt like it was in Liver King's favor.

716
00:34:52.559 --> 00:34:54.639
Like Malice in the Palace. They didn't make run our

717
00:34:54.719 --> 00:34:57.480
test seem like some angel after punching a fan. You know,

718
00:34:57.639 --> 00:35:00.760
they just told it how it was and see semed unbiased.

719
00:35:00.800 --> 00:35:05.480
This almost seemed biased to like whip around this story

720
00:35:05.519 --> 00:35:09.559
again to six months later, he's cutting melons and thinking

721
00:35:09.679 --> 00:35:11.599
whoever he's thinking the melon for the melon?

722
00:35:11.880 --> 00:35:13.760
Yeah, I think I told you it kind of like

723
00:35:13.880 --> 00:35:17.239
tries to humanize him, Yeah, yeah, make him like more

724
00:35:17.280 --> 00:35:19.880
relatable and and he's just not human.

725
00:35:19.920 --> 00:35:23.199
He's fucking weird. He's rolling around in the mud out there,

726
00:35:23.280 --> 00:35:27.039
just fucking he is the smallest strawberry I've ever seen life.

727
00:35:29.119 --> 00:35:30.639
I'm not even picking that one up. Bro, Let it

728
00:35:30.719 --> 00:35:31.360
grow a little bit.

729
00:35:31.480 --> 00:35:34.480
His wife was she fully just took the pill. Bro,

730
00:35:34.639 --> 00:35:36.800
She's going she don't care, She does not care.

731
00:35:36.840 --> 00:35:38.039
I mean she got the money, bro.

732
00:35:37.960 --> 00:35:40.119
Sure, but she also seemed like a dipshit.

733
00:35:40.760 --> 00:35:43.400
Yeah, she's just kind of following along for sure. I

734
00:35:43.440 --> 00:35:45.480
do feel bad for the kids too, because they did

735
00:35:45.519 --> 00:35:48.559
they they kind of seemed like normal kids, Yeah, stuck

736
00:35:48.559 --> 00:35:51.159
in this, Like now the camera's on us, Like why

737
00:35:51.199 --> 00:35:52.800
is the fucking camera on us? Like I knew my

738
00:35:52.880 --> 00:35:55.559
dad was doing goofy shit. I can't wait till we

739
00:35:55.639 --> 00:36:01.559
hear how they went no contact with him, you'd imagine, right,

740
00:36:01.599 --> 00:36:03.679
And they weren't young, right, Like the one was probably

741
00:36:03.679 --> 00:36:06.920
like what right, like fifteen seventeen, fourteen seventeen. You know,

742
00:36:06.920 --> 00:36:09.239
they're kind of grown now, like enough to understand what's

743
00:36:09.280 --> 00:36:11.719
going on, but it just all felt scripted.

744
00:36:11.800 --> 00:36:15.000
It kind of reminds me of you know that kid

745
00:36:15.039 --> 00:36:19.320
that was like super jacked as a kid, like from

746
00:36:19.360 --> 00:36:21.440
the time he was like eight or nine years old.

747
00:36:21.880 --> 00:36:24.000
Maybe I don't know. Yeah, I know Tristan who just

748
00:36:24.039 --> 00:36:26.480
walked away from it at some point. Oh, Tristan.

749
00:36:26.679 --> 00:36:28.920
It was a it was a white kid, yeah, like.

750
00:36:28.920 --> 00:36:33.199
Long yeah, yeah, pocket hercules or something.

751
00:36:33.320 --> 00:36:34.280
Oh I've heard of that too.

752
00:36:34.360 --> 00:36:34.760
Yeah.

753
00:36:34.559 --> 00:36:36.199
Yah, Tristan's kind of like that, but he's still in

754
00:36:36.239 --> 00:36:39.320
the game. Yeah, Tristan was just like a shout out Tristan.

755
00:36:39.679 --> 00:36:42.880
Tristan was like, try to play pro soccer in Europe,

756
00:36:43.360 --> 00:36:45.880
but for some reason, and he kind of on screen

757
00:36:45.920 --> 00:36:47.519
off screen, he's just like, dude, I just don't like

758
00:36:47.559 --> 00:36:49.559
really like food like that, so I always just ate

759
00:36:49.599 --> 00:36:52.039
crazy healthy and so he's just always been jacked out

760
00:36:52.039 --> 00:36:54.760
of his brains. And then now he like more bodybuilds

761
00:36:54.800 --> 00:36:57.079
and he's he's probably like your age now. But I

762
00:36:57.079 --> 00:36:58.920
think he went viral and he's like sixteen because he

763
00:36:58.960 --> 00:37:01.119
looked like a bodybuilder. Yeah, because he just ate so

764
00:37:01.239 --> 00:37:03.440
clean and trained like a pro athlete.

765
00:37:03.679 --> 00:37:09.119
That's crazy. The Time magazine review is pretty much a

766
00:37:09.199 --> 00:37:13.840
must read with this that I'm just gonna I'm just

767
00:37:13.920 --> 00:37:15.960
going to read the last three paragraphs aloud here, so

768
00:37:15.960 --> 00:37:18.599
bear with me. How do I repent to Johnson Moles

769
00:37:18.599 --> 00:37:20.199
in the film? I don't know what comes next. I

770
00:37:20.199 --> 00:37:22.159
don't have an answer to that yet. Six months later,

771
00:37:22.159 --> 00:37:25.039
though inspiration appears to have struck, he says he plans

772
00:37:25.079 --> 00:37:29.440
to open precisely three hundred and two retreats that espouse

773
00:37:29.840 --> 00:37:34.559
ancestral living with or without rolllexes. There are more Mia

774
00:37:34.599 --> 00:37:37.800
Kolpass for good measure. I want the world to know

775
00:37:37.920 --> 00:37:40.280
that I was wrong. I got all of it wrong,

776
00:37:40.320 --> 00:37:43.079
he says, by the films, and in between thanking a

777
00:37:43.119 --> 00:37:47.960
homegrown strawberry for nourishing him and simulating a baptism, it's

778
00:37:47.960 --> 00:37:50.239
hard not to watch this. I can't say that word

779
00:37:50.599 --> 00:37:55.840
a moment with skepticism, not least when minutes earlier Johnson

780
00:37:55.880 --> 00:37:59.840
had admitted to a criminal past, including illegally printing money

781
00:38:00.280 --> 00:38:04.119
and international drug trading. There were a lot more things

782
00:38:04.159 --> 00:38:06.840
that didn't make the cuts. As Perman, it was the director.

783
00:38:07.199 --> 00:38:09.400
It's a crying shame that so many of these late

784
00:38:09.480 --> 00:38:14.440
documentary revelations go without proper interrogation, which is my fucking point.

785
00:38:14.719 --> 00:38:17.360
That should have been the whole We should have gotten

786
00:38:17.360 --> 00:38:19.679
five minutes at the beginning about the setup, and the

787
00:38:19.719 --> 00:38:21.280
rest of it should have been a deep dive into

788
00:38:21.280 --> 00:38:24.039
what a scumbag is. Instead, we are left with Johnson

789
00:38:24.079 --> 00:38:27.400
as an unreliable narrator of his own fairy tale. Ninety

790
00:38:27.440 --> 00:38:29.559
nine percent of the fucking truth is what I would

791
00:38:29.559 --> 00:38:32.199
suggest to you that I've shared, he insists, and I'm

792
00:38:32.199 --> 00:38:37.079
told his words smack more of more raw ble than

793
00:38:37.119 --> 00:38:38.280
his testicle dinner.

794
00:38:39.239 --> 00:38:42.559
So this is time. Yeah, it sounds like time understands

795
00:38:42.559 --> 00:38:45.519
what we understand. Yeah, I could see them buying the

796
00:38:45.559 --> 00:38:49.639
bullshit because it seemed like everyone else there bought the bullshit. Yeah,

797
00:38:50.239 --> 00:38:53.519
but it's so bad. Yeah, and what is the cut

798
00:38:53.599 --> 00:38:55.760
of him talking about his past crimes?

799
00:38:55.880 --> 00:38:57.000
Yeah, I would rather see that.

800
00:38:57.360 --> 00:38:59.840
Well, why why did they do like one story of

801
00:39:00.239 --> 00:39:01.679
crimes and then all of a sudden, Yeah, he's eating

802
00:39:01.719 --> 00:39:04.880
strawberries just to like because to me, that's more like

803
00:39:06.280 --> 00:39:09.039
it leaves you with the y. Yeah, like you better.

804
00:39:09.400 --> 00:39:12.840
You're just admitting you've been at criminal for twenty years. Yeah,

805
00:39:12.880 --> 00:39:15.920
and then six months, yeah you're a strawberry loving and

806
00:39:15.960 --> 00:39:19.440
then retreats. I mean that's just the I mean, really.

807
00:39:19.079 --> 00:39:20.239
He's just another scam.

808
00:39:20.360 --> 00:39:23.320
Well, he's delayed what the industry's already done, right, the

809
00:39:23.360 --> 00:39:26.639
industry has always been, you know, twenty ten to twenty fifteen,

810
00:39:26.679 --> 00:39:28.519
we're like, oh wow, I could remote coach, So you

811
00:39:28.599 --> 00:39:30.679
become an online coach to actually help people. Then everyone

812
00:39:30.760 --> 00:39:33.320
does it because they see it's easy money. Then you

813
00:39:33.360 --> 00:39:36.400
go into oh my gosh, it's all about consumables, so

814
00:39:36.400 --> 00:39:39.159
then you make a supplement company. Twenty fourteen to twenty eighteen,

815
00:39:39.199 --> 00:39:41.639
every motherfucker made a supplement company. And then now what

816
00:39:41.679 --> 00:39:43.519
are they doing. They're doing some kind of life in

817
00:39:43.559 --> 00:39:47.400
person alpha male retreat coach because now you can charge

818
00:39:47.440 --> 00:39:50.519
ten grand for three days of work, right Like, he's

819
00:39:50.559 --> 00:39:56.239
literally just showing the evolution of online's scammer. Yeah, he's

820
00:39:56.280 --> 00:39:59.840
just delayed. He's just five years behind. I hope no

821
00:39:59.840 --> 00:40:01.920
one goes bro if there you take one thing from

822
00:40:01.920 --> 00:40:04.559
this podcast, don't go to one of his fucking retreats. Man.

823
00:40:04.679 --> 00:40:07.199
I've seen some retreat shit on my timeline right now,

824
00:40:07.199 --> 00:40:10.199
and it's just so ridiculous. It's so ridiculous.

825
00:40:10.280 --> 00:40:14.119
It doesn't it doesn't make any sense. Let's, uh, let's

826
00:40:14.199 --> 00:40:16.519
rate this thing, and then I want to to get

827
00:40:16.559 --> 00:40:18.360
to one other issue that you and I have talked

828
00:40:18.360 --> 00:40:22.239
about a little bit. So I don't know of any

829
00:40:22.320 --> 00:40:25.280
way other to rate this than with bull testicles.

830
00:40:25.480 --> 00:40:27.840
Wasn't there real studies storry to interrupt? Wasn't there real

831
00:40:27.880 --> 00:40:31.199
studies that even showed like a regular cooked ass New

832
00:40:31.280 --> 00:40:36.159
York strip, like a normal human meal, has nearly amount

833
00:40:36.199 --> 00:40:38.719
of nutrients that you need compared to like this liver.

834
00:40:38.800 --> 00:40:41.599
Like you know, like I'm sure there was, and if

835
00:40:41.639 --> 00:40:42.440
there wasn't, who cares.

836
00:40:42.679 --> 00:40:46.239
Yes, there's just no way, Like a big ass side

837
00:40:46.280 --> 00:40:48.480
of broccoli in a New York strip doesn't give me

838
00:40:48.519 --> 00:40:51.400
what I need versus a bull. And the testosterone thing

839
00:40:51.920 --> 00:40:54.199
the wife's talking about eating nuts to get testosterone is

840
00:40:54.239 --> 00:40:57.320
totally debunked, that's for sure. Like that means you give

841
00:40:57.320 --> 00:40:59.119
a blowjob and all of a sudden you're getting fucking

842
00:41:00.280 --> 00:41:03.159
you know, Christ Swallowers, not the spinners, are getting more

843
00:41:03.239 --> 00:41:06.960
fucking jack gains. Yeah, that's just absolutely insane. You eating

844
00:41:07.039 --> 00:41:08.800
nothing to get in that? Like, what the fuck are

845
00:41:08.840 --> 00:41:12.039
we talking about? She literally is eating a nut saying like, well,

846
00:41:12.079 --> 00:41:14.440
I need to stosterone too, Like, I don't think it

847
00:41:14.559 --> 00:41:16.119
works that way, lady.

848
00:41:16.480 --> 00:41:19.440
Yeah, if you need testosterone, it's probably that your body

849
00:41:19.480 --> 00:41:21.719
is making it, because women do have testosterone and whatnot.

850
00:41:21.760 --> 00:41:24.800
And even that likestron flows through your body, not all men.

851
00:41:25.079 --> 00:41:26.719
Stroone just sits in my nut.

852
00:41:27.119 --> 00:41:31.239
Yeah, and to think that it would survive a trip

853
00:41:31.280 --> 00:41:31.840
through your.

854
00:41:31.719 --> 00:41:35.159
Gut, Yeah, you're gonna absorb that test like we know

855
00:41:35.280 --> 00:41:37.519
that doesn't work. Yeah, yeah, brainless.

856
00:41:37.719 --> 00:41:41.519
Oh my god, all right to the to the to

857
00:41:41.639 --> 00:41:45.199
the rating point, back to both testicles. How many bull

858
00:41:45.239 --> 00:41:48.039
testicles would you give that you want to do? You

859
00:41:48.039 --> 00:41:50.960
want to actually let's let's split it into Yeah, one

860
00:41:51.000 --> 00:41:52.800
for the subject and one for the execution.

861
00:41:53.039 --> 00:41:56.119
Yeah, so like the subject and all that is like, yeah,

862
00:41:56.119 --> 00:41:58.440
like a negative one, like fuck that guy, fuck this

863
00:41:58.519 --> 00:42:00.840
whole thing, fuck a scam. Like now we're just like

864
00:42:01.039 --> 00:42:04.199
promoting scams and trying to make them look nice. Yeah,

865
00:42:04.280 --> 00:42:07.320
you know, we're putting a bow on, in my opinion,

866
00:42:07.360 --> 00:42:10.480
like a shitter. In terms of execution. Yeah, it's like

867
00:42:10.480 --> 00:42:14.079
a a documentary style. It wasn't Untold's best by any means.

868
00:42:14.199 --> 00:42:16.880
I just don't think it was as as concise. The

869
00:42:16.920 --> 00:42:20.880
timeline wasn't as good they clearly, We've talked about it

870
00:42:20.960 --> 00:42:23.639
many times, like for a documentary, you need the subject,

871
00:42:23.679 --> 00:42:27.920
which they got right. They got the fun, the exciting subject,

872
00:42:28.159 --> 00:42:31.440
but then the actual execution was you know, mediocre at best.

873
00:42:31.480 --> 00:42:34.679
So even for that, maybe like a two eight. Yeah,

874
00:42:34.760 --> 00:42:38.159
And it's hard to differentiate my shitty feeling afterwards because

875
00:42:38.159 --> 00:42:41.559
it is it just feels so scammy, well because it's

876
00:42:41.559 --> 00:42:45.440
scammy beyond like they're showing you the scam, right, the

877
00:42:45.480 --> 00:42:48.000
whole movie is about showing a scam, but I know

878
00:42:48.199 --> 00:42:50.639
there's a scam to the scam, right, That's why it

879
00:42:50.639 --> 00:42:53.760
feels gross. Right, Like I've seen other crime stuff and

880
00:42:53.880 --> 00:42:55.719
they're telling you about their past and now they're in

881
00:42:55.760 --> 00:42:58.519
prison or you know, murdered documentaries or whatever, and that

882
00:42:58.559 --> 00:43:00.920
makes you feel like not good, but you understand, like,

883
00:43:00.920 --> 00:43:03.559
all right, justice was done. Either they're in jail or

884
00:43:03.599 --> 00:43:06.159
they've actually changed. But I know this is just a

885
00:43:06.199 --> 00:43:08.639
bow a scam, bow on a scam.

886
00:43:09.119 --> 00:43:09.519
Yeah.

887
00:43:09.800 --> 00:43:14.039
See bess Uh, I don't honestly, if they agree, I'll

888
00:43:14.039 --> 00:43:14.880
probably just give it a three.

889
00:43:15.280 --> 00:43:15.400
Uh.

890
00:43:15.400 --> 00:43:17.039
They could have done a lot better if they probably

891
00:43:17.079 --> 00:43:19.599
if they would have went into like the criminals criminal

892
00:43:19.639 --> 00:43:22.079
fast then just talked about that made it maybe made

893
00:43:22.119 --> 00:43:25.599
it like thirty minutes longer just to talk about that

894
00:43:26.000 --> 00:43:28.800
and then not give it the the ending that it got.

895
00:43:29.400 --> 00:43:30.719
Yeah, I didn't really like the ending.

896
00:43:32.039 --> 00:43:36.199
The ending sucked, yeah for me. For for this, for

897
00:43:36.239 --> 00:43:38.840
the subject, it's it can't be more than a one

898
00:43:39.440 --> 00:43:43.519
one one testicle, he sucks. Uh. And in terms of

899
00:43:43.559 --> 00:43:45.679
the execution, I can't go more than about a two

900
00:43:45.719 --> 00:43:48.639
and a half because of the way that it was constructed.

901
00:43:49.280 --> 00:43:52.960
It does seem scammy on its face. It does seem

902
00:43:53.159 --> 00:43:57.280
like a rehabilitation a misguided rehabilitation project.

903
00:43:57.440 --> 00:44:00.519
Yeah, that's why it feels like such a are stunt,

904
00:44:00.559 --> 00:44:03.360
Like my original hypothesis. It feels like that marketing guy

905
00:44:04.519 --> 00:44:07.440
has a director friend or yeah, he's a user friend.

906
00:44:07.559 --> 00:44:10.239
He's that he might not be he might not actually

907
00:44:11.719 --> 00:44:14.880
have a title. That means he's still working for him. Yeah,

908
00:44:14.920 --> 00:44:17.559
but he may indeed still be working for him as

909
00:44:17.559 --> 00:44:19.880
a consultant or something and not have and not disclose that.

910
00:44:20.119 --> 00:44:22.280
Yeah, we were like they own yeah, a bank account

911
00:44:22.320 --> 00:44:23.400
together or something shit.

912
00:44:23.360 --> 00:44:25.760
Some something, I don't know. It seemed it just doesn't

913
00:44:25.800 --> 00:44:26.880
seem because, like.

914
00:44:26.840 --> 00:44:29.920
We said, even honest, even when the homies like condemn him,

915
00:44:30.000 --> 00:44:32.320
they don't really yeah, you know, they kind of say, like,

916
00:44:32.400 --> 00:44:34.840
dang sucks Brian steroids.

917
00:44:34.920 --> 00:44:37.239
Yeah, I'm a little bit. I'm upset that I was.

918
00:44:37.360 --> 00:44:38.000
I was fooled.

919
00:44:38.039 --> 00:44:39.800
Yeah, I thought we were closer than that. He could

920
00:44:39.800 --> 00:44:41.079
have told me about a steroids.

921
00:44:41.079 --> 00:44:44.639
It's like, does this guy close to anybody that isn't performative? No, no, no,

922
00:44:45.199 --> 00:44:48.960
you don't get any sense. You don't. You don't. His

923
00:44:49.039 --> 00:44:51.960
relationship with his wife seems performative, his relationship with the

924
00:44:52.039 --> 00:44:55.599
kids seems performative, His relationship with his with the people

925
00:44:55.639 --> 00:45:00.280
shooting his ship seems performative. Running his company Performative. You know,

926
00:45:00.320 --> 00:45:03.079
it's just it's just so unreal.

927
00:45:02.800 --> 00:45:06.199
When and the whole marketing team puts the whole responsibility

928
00:45:06.199 --> 00:45:08.119
on him too, right, Like bitch, as you were just

929
00:45:08.119 --> 00:45:10.639
as involved. Yeah yeah, like one, your naives shit if

930
00:45:10.679 --> 00:45:13.159
you think he's natural? Yeah, and then two like you

931
00:45:13.599 --> 00:45:16.360
even if he isn't it? Like to me, it's just

932
00:45:16.440 --> 00:45:20.440
as bad, eh, almost just as bad to be on steroids,

933
00:45:20.440 --> 00:45:22.639
lie about it to sell a supplement as it is

934
00:45:22.679 --> 00:45:25.840
to fake pull a truck to show your performance. Yeah right,

935
00:45:25.920 --> 00:45:28.239
that's like lifting with fake plates to sell a pre workout.

936
00:45:28.320 --> 00:45:31.239
Like that sucks. That's a scam, that's a lie. And

937
00:45:31.360 --> 00:45:34.079
his whole marketing team wrote that up. They wrote that

938
00:45:34.159 --> 00:45:35.880
script to push the truck to make it look like

939
00:45:35.920 --> 00:45:39.000
he's pulling it. Like, you're just as lame, you know,

940
00:45:39.239 --> 00:45:41.679
like yeah, is that illegal or are you the total

941
00:45:41.679 --> 00:45:42.480
devil for doing that?

942
00:45:42.599 --> 00:45:42.679
No?

943
00:45:42.840 --> 00:45:44.840
But like you're lame, You're fucking lame.

944
00:45:45.400 --> 00:45:47.480
Yeah, And I mean I would say it's probably I mean,

945
00:45:47.519 --> 00:45:50.199
if if he's laying it off on the supplements that

946
00:45:50.239 --> 00:45:54.199
he takes or the lifestyle that he promotes, and he's

947
00:45:54.239 --> 00:45:57.800
getting money from that somehow or another, including actually just

948
00:45:57.840 --> 00:46:01.000
money from from the social media right part of it. Right,

949
00:46:01.280 --> 00:46:02.960
it's it's fraud. It's just fraud.

950
00:46:03.039 --> 00:46:05.400
Like you don't have to say, like I only pulled

951
00:46:05.440 --> 00:46:07.920
that truck because of ancestral supplements for it to be

952
00:46:07.960 --> 00:46:11.360
fraud like your everything, Like marketing is more complex than that.

953
00:46:11.519 --> 00:46:13.000
This is the top of your funnel, and we know

954
00:46:13.039 --> 00:46:15.639
the bottom of your funnels to buy this shit supplement, Like, yeah,

955
00:46:15.679 --> 00:46:16.079
you're lame.

956
00:46:16.480 --> 00:46:20.239
Yeah, yeah for sure. So that's where I am with it.

957
00:46:20.960 --> 00:46:22.119
Get fucked, Brian Johnson.

958
00:46:22.159 --> 00:46:24.800
Fuck Brian Johnson. Okay, So the other thing I wanted

959
00:46:24.800 --> 00:46:29.599
to cover real quick was we've been talking about the

960
00:46:29.679 --> 00:46:34.440
marketing of the live performance of World Strongest Man. And

961
00:46:34.880 --> 00:46:38.559
it's a TV show and they like they set reset,

962
00:46:39.039 --> 00:46:41.800
they get you know, we need crowd noise here. Just

963
00:46:42.079 --> 00:46:43.599
it just it's just like going to see it like

964
00:46:43.639 --> 00:46:46.000
I went to Colbert in January. It's the same kind

965
00:46:46.000 --> 00:46:49.239
of thing for that, except that Colbert knows how to

966
00:46:49.599 --> 00:46:53.440
how to pack the stands. Yeah, because they don't charge anybody.

967
00:46:53.679 --> 00:46:56.320
Yeah, and that genius. They've done these kind of shows

968
00:46:56.320 --> 00:46:59.480
for seventy years. Yeah, and they've always stuck to that

969
00:46:59.599 --> 00:47:02.039
model because they know it works and you're gonna get

970
00:47:02.039 --> 00:47:03.199
people that are excited to be there.

971
00:47:03.239 --> 00:47:05.920
I mean yeah, and I mean for some for some

972
00:47:06.079 --> 00:47:09.440
really hot shows, it's it's hard to get tickets or whatever.

973
00:47:09.880 --> 00:47:12.800
And when you when there's a show like Colbert where

974
00:47:12.800 --> 00:47:15.639
they produce a lot of them, then you know they

975
00:47:15.719 --> 00:47:18.639
have to pull people off the street to fill out

976
00:47:18.639 --> 00:47:21.920
an audience. But in reality, like most of the people

977
00:47:21.920 --> 00:47:24.360
who were there already got their tickets.

978
00:47:24.039 --> 00:47:27.760
Online prices right or whatever, those fuckers are stoked to

979
00:47:27.800 --> 00:47:28.119
be there.

980
00:47:28.199 --> 00:47:32.039
Yeah, exactly, exactly. Uh, a worst hoist man doesn't do that.

981
00:47:32.239 --> 00:47:33.400
They were charging.

982
00:47:33.480 --> 00:47:35.440
They did, suppose, I mean as far as we know

983
00:47:35.480 --> 00:47:38.679
they did. Besides this one, right because we went free

984
00:47:38.719 --> 00:47:39.400
both times.

985
00:47:40.360 --> 00:47:42.239
The last time that they were here, they were charging

986
00:47:42.320 --> 00:47:46.039
for the stands yeacause they didn't they didn't try to

987
00:47:46.079 --> 00:47:47.039
block off the area.

988
00:47:47.159 --> 00:47:49.719
I think they stand. Yeah, they had a VIP tent. Yeah,

989
00:47:49.719 --> 00:47:51.480
and then they had a stand on only one side

990
00:47:51.480 --> 00:47:52.199
though I think.

991
00:47:53.480 --> 00:47:55.440
This was three sides, two sides.

992
00:47:55.519 --> 00:47:58.159
Yeah. The one before there was at least at least

993
00:47:58.920 --> 00:48:01.400
a football field of gap you could hang out in

994
00:48:01.440 --> 00:48:03.880
and clearly see right, and there was there was a

995
00:48:03.920 --> 00:48:04.480
giant crowd.

996
00:48:04.559 --> 00:48:07.639
This was it was very hard to see you. They had,

997
00:48:08.719 --> 00:48:13.280
you know, temporary fencing up with the privacy screenshit on

998
00:48:13.320 --> 00:48:15.639
it so literally you had to stand up above it

999
00:48:15.679 --> 00:48:18.320
so you could see if you wanted to see it.

1000
00:48:18.400 --> 00:48:20.360
Was two hundred bucks for VIP tickets.

1001
00:48:20.519 --> 00:48:22.599
Yeah, I think even eighty bucks for a shit in

1002
00:48:22.639 --> 00:48:26.199
the stand. And again, like going to the past cool

1003
00:48:26.239 --> 00:48:29.519
ones like Venice Beach, it looked like people were just

1004
00:48:29.719 --> 00:48:31.599
making a semicircle on the beach.

1005
00:48:31.880 --> 00:48:34.960
And I don't even necessarily think they have for it

1006
00:48:35.000 --> 00:48:37.920
has to be free, but don't make it so expensive

1007
00:48:38.239 --> 00:48:42.239
that if somebody is going to travel to see it, right,

1008
00:48:43.000 --> 00:48:44.760
they're going to have to spend it also an arm

1009
00:48:44.840 --> 00:48:46.440
and a leg to get into it.

1010
00:48:46.480 --> 00:48:48.440
Was it two hundred bucks an event or even a day?

1011
00:48:48.880 --> 00:48:50.599
It just seems crazy. I think it was a day

1012
00:48:50.679 --> 00:48:53.559
because even that, right, there's two events a day. Yeah,

1013
00:48:53.599 --> 00:48:55.760
they're in like an hour long. Why do you.

1014
00:48:55.800 --> 00:48:59.880
Feel like you have to make money off of the crowd.

1015
00:49:00.119 --> 00:49:03.199
Well, like yeah, and I do understand monetizing every inch

1016
00:49:03.239 --> 00:49:06.039
of your business, but like we covered a long time ago,

1017
00:49:06.159 --> 00:49:10.519
the Lakers kind of created sports entertainment. You could argue, right,

1018
00:49:10.960 --> 00:49:12.719
and and what do they do and what do they

1019
00:49:12.760 --> 00:49:14.760
do at every single place. Now, Like, all right, you're

1020
00:49:14.800 --> 00:49:16.880
paying thirty bucks to sit in the upper deck in

1021
00:49:16.920 --> 00:49:19.440
the NBA. And yeah, I understand there's eighty two games

1022
00:49:19.480 --> 00:49:21.320
and it's different or forty games if you're at home.

1023
00:49:21.920 --> 00:49:24.280
I understand that's different than one World Strongest many year,

1024
00:49:24.320 --> 00:49:26.400
but let's just bear with me. Thirty bucks, you're sitting

1025
00:49:26.400 --> 00:49:29.360
in the upper deck. You're getting fucking T shirts thrown

1026
00:49:29.400 --> 00:49:32.400
at you for free. You're getting a two hour long

1027
00:49:33.079 --> 00:49:36.079
sports game, longer if it's baseball, longer if it's football.

1028
00:49:36.840 --> 00:49:39.800
You're going to halftime show of a B list celebrity,

1029
00:49:40.280 --> 00:49:42.679
you know, like I saw Motel Jordan, you know, I

1030
00:49:42.719 --> 00:49:46.239
got dude sings Legit hits, you know, for thirty bucks.

1031
00:49:46.679 --> 00:49:48.960
And so now you're going to World's Strongest Man. You're

1032
00:49:49.000 --> 00:49:53.039
spending eighty dollars. You're seeing one hour an event or

1033
00:49:53.079 --> 00:49:56.639
maybe two one hour events separated by six hours where

1034
00:49:56.679 --> 00:49:58.679
you have to like find some shit to do in between.

1035
00:49:58.880 --> 00:50:02.199
And because you're the audience, you're also performing.

1036
00:50:01.840 --> 00:50:04.960
Right, You're getting yelled at one to clap, and again,

1037
00:50:05.000 --> 00:50:07.119
who knows, we'll see come Christmas when this thing gets

1038
00:50:07.119 --> 00:50:10.079
released fucking twenty months from now. I bet you the

1039
00:50:10.119 --> 00:50:11.679
stands are kind of empty and it looks silly.

1040
00:50:11.800 --> 00:50:15.719
I saw that. Yeah, I saw the the natural Stone

1041
00:50:16.519 --> 00:50:20.360
medley of the Ultimate Winner when I was over there,

1042
00:50:20.480 --> 00:50:24.159
and like they're gonna have to seriously sweeten up the

1043
00:50:24.239 --> 00:50:26.480
cheering because like he was a first time competitor.

1044
00:50:26.599 --> 00:50:28.719
Yeah, they're called the full House for the rights of

1045
00:50:28.760 --> 00:50:29.519
the clap track.

1046
00:50:29.840 --> 00:50:33.639
Yeah, and they're they're aiing people into the stands or something.

1047
00:50:33.880 --> 00:50:36.199
I mean they legitimately should have just done that to start.

1048
00:50:36.400 --> 00:50:38.880
Yeah, man, yeah, exactly that if that was the deal

1049
00:50:39.400 --> 00:50:42.400
or just they could have filled the stands if they

1050
00:50:42.920 --> 00:50:45.880
if it hadn't been for the cost and for the

1051
00:50:47.559 --> 00:50:49.880
you know, let's throw up a fence or whatever. It

1052
00:50:49.920 --> 00:50:50.840
reminds me there's no.

1053
00:50:50.800 --> 00:50:52.960
Way their cost is that much. Yeah, because like they're

1054
00:50:53.000 --> 00:50:55.760
working with like the Sac City people, like they probably

1055
00:50:55.760 --> 00:50:57.880
want that event. You know, like they're finding a way

1056
00:50:57.920 --> 00:50:58.639
to make this work.

1057
00:50:59.400 --> 00:51:03.400
There is short sighted. It actually in some ways kind

1058
00:51:03.400 --> 00:51:06.840
of reminds me of and some people are gonna feel

1059
00:51:06.840 --> 00:51:09.559
stepped on when I say this, but when they try

1060
00:51:09.639 --> 00:51:16.440
to control the sitelines for video for big parlifting needs,

1061
00:51:16.960 --> 00:51:24.199
it's like your sport benefits from people in the crowd,

1062
00:51:25.440 --> 00:51:26.639
Your activities.

1063
00:51:26.679 --> 00:51:28.880
They do pay per views for some live lifting now,

1064
00:51:29.480 --> 00:51:31.000
and I'm like, dude, who's going to pay for that?

1065
00:51:31.079 --> 00:51:33.559
Like there's We're just not at that point. And since

1066
00:51:33.599 --> 00:51:36.360
we're a community driven thing much like strong Man, like

1067
00:51:36.440 --> 00:51:39.000
you have to like we already talked about it off air,

1068
00:51:39.119 --> 00:51:41.760
like the Arnold. I see Arnold fucking pop up on

1069
00:51:41.800 --> 00:51:44.960
his story like literally four days ago talking about raising

1070
00:51:45.320 --> 00:51:48.400
his prize perse I believe for Strongman, but for sure

1071
00:51:48.440 --> 00:51:50.880
bodybuilding at the Arnold, And I do know the Bodybuilding

1072
00:51:50.920 --> 00:51:52.400
show you have to buy tickets for whatever.

1073
00:51:52.440 --> 00:51:54.000
It's in an auditorium, but the strong Man.

1074
00:51:54.000 --> 00:51:57.199
So it's fucking sick because it's literally in the middle

1075
00:51:57.239 --> 00:52:00.480
of the Expo and there's thousands of peace people just

1076
00:52:01.480 --> 00:52:04.079
you know, ask the nuts trying to watch these guys

1077
00:52:04.079 --> 00:52:07.599
deadlift on stage. It's fucking rat I remember sneaking in

1078
00:52:08.119 --> 00:52:11.159
uh you know whatever the epic year was, like Brian

1079
00:52:11.280 --> 00:52:14.039
versus Store deadlift off and I'm sneaking to the front

1080
00:52:14.400 --> 00:52:17.320
and the crowd's going insane. And yeah, they bought a

1081
00:52:17.320 --> 00:52:20.239
ticket to the expo, but even that's forty bucks one

1082
00:52:20.519 --> 00:52:23.920
and then two. It's in the biggest expo in America, right,

1083
00:52:23.960 --> 00:52:25.679
and then you get to watch this on the side,

1084
00:52:25.800 --> 00:52:27.760
and of course the crowd interaction is only going to

1085
00:52:27.800 --> 00:52:30.559
help the athletes. Imagine being an athlete, you gotta go

1086
00:52:30.679 --> 00:52:33.559
do your heaviest Atlas Stone. Ever you look in the

1087
00:52:33.559 --> 00:52:38.920
crowd and there's fucking fifty percent green chairs. Yeah that sucks. Yeah,

1088
00:52:39.000 --> 00:52:42.119
that fucking sucks. Like it's the one time you have

1089
00:52:42.159 --> 00:52:44.760
a crowd watching you lift. Ever, no one cares about

1090
00:52:44.800 --> 00:52:47.480
you or your sport. And then no one's there because

1091
00:52:47.599 --> 00:52:50.639
whoever's putting this thing on charge two hundred dollars, Yeah,

1092
00:52:50.639 --> 00:52:53.079
it seems silly. I just don't think we're there yet.

1093
00:52:53.400 --> 00:52:56.039
Find other ways to monetize, Like we talked about, like

1094
00:52:56.039 --> 00:52:58.320
two hundred bucks should be. You get to meet every

1095
00:52:58.320 --> 00:53:00.280
fucking strong man, You get a free shirt and they're

1096
00:53:00.280 --> 00:53:02.639
signing that bitch. Yeah, and you get to go play

1097
00:53:02.639 --> 00:53:05.000
with the stone after Yeah, you know, you get to

1098
00:53:05.039 --> 00:53:06.880
go on stage after all. Right, I get two hundred

1099
00:53:06.880 --> 00:53:08.280
bucks for that. You know, if I'm a dad and

1100
00:53:08.360 --> 00:53:10.239
my kids just getting to the gym, Yeah, I'm paying that,

1101
00:53:10.480 --> 00:53:12.280
I'm paying that. But just to sit in the crowd

1102
00:53:12.280 --> 00:53:15.320
for an hour and get nothing, it just seems weird

1103
00:53:15.400 --> 00:53:19.559
And again, like money's tight in the world. Strongman fans

1104
00:53:19.559 --> 00:53:22.199
aren't known to be the richest, so you know, like

1105
00:53:22.320 --> 00:53:25.039
it's just a grassroots sports and you're trying to take

1106
00:53:25.039 --> 00:53:27.039
it away from that. Like I know they I don't know,

1107
00:53:27.119 --> 00:53:28.880
it just makes no sense. I don't know what they're thinking,

1108
00:53:28.960 --> 00:53:32.440
is like, there's other ways to make money. If you

1109
00:53:32.480 --> 00:53:35.079
really want to do shit, run run a local strongman

1110
00:53:35.199 --> 00:53:37.840
meet on the side. Yeah, not only to fill the time,

1111
00:53:37.920 --> 00:53:40.039
but then you can charge those competitors two hundred bucks

1112
00:53:40.039 --> 00:53:41.440
to get it because they get to be at the

1113
00:53:41.440 --> 00:53:42.000
biggest day.

1114
00:53:42.119 --> 00:53:42.199
Right.

1115
00:53:42.239 --> 00:53:43.760
A regular I don't know what a strong man is,

1116
00:53:43.800 --> 00:53:46.000
but a regular power lifting meets one hundred bucks for

1117
00:53:46.079 --> 00:53:48.360
a membership, one hundred and twenty five bucks to compete, right,

1118
00:53:48.400 --> 00:53:50.480
So two twenty five and you're just competing in a

1119
00:53:50.519 --> 00:53:54.199
regular ass gym or high school. I could see high

1120
00:53:54.280 --> 00:53:56.920
level strong men that aren't pros paying two hundred three

1121
00:53:57.000 --> 00:53:59.639
hundred bucks to go compete in between the World's Strongest

1122
00:53:59.639 --> 00:54:02.119
Man event and now the crowd's got some shit to watch,

1123
00:54:02.440 --> 00:54:04.559
and you're gonna make just as much money. Yeah, you

1124
00:54:04.559 --> 00:54:07.519
get fifty male competitors, fifty women competitors, and they're each

1125
00:54:07.599 --> 00:54:10.519
paying two ten You built an audience, they're gonna hang

1126
00:54:10.519 --> 00:54:12.679
out afterwards to watch. They're all gonna buy a fucking

1127
00:54:12.719 --> 00:54:16.599
T shirt, and they're legitimate competitors to entertain the crowd

1128
00:54:16.639 --> 00:54:18.880
in between your events, you know, like boom, you're welcome.

1129
00:54:18.960 --> 00:54:22.039
SPD fucking send me an invoice, you know, Like how

1130
00:54:22.119 --> 00:54:24.000
much consulting? I made that up on the spot. Like

1131
00:54:24.039 --> 00:54:25.880
if you put real brain power into this, you can

1132
00:54:25.920 --> 00:54:29.679
find ways to make it cooler and make the money

1133
00:54:30.119 --> 00:54:32.480
while making it better. Just charging for a tick in

1134
00:54:32.519 --> 00:54:34.480
the stands doesn't make the event better.

1135
00:54:34.400 --> 00:54:35.400
No, it sure doesn't.

1136
00:54:35.480 --> 00:54:37.880
It literally takes away from the event. And there's other ways. Yeah,

1137
00:54:37.880 --> 00:54:40.599
there's some million ways to go get another sponsor. They

1138
00:54:40.599 --> 00:54:44.840
have some like barrel company, right cracker or whatever the

1139
00:54:44.880 --> 00:54:48.000
fuck it's called cracking was it called? They have a

1140
00:54:48.199 --> 00:54:51.440
knack Knack Knack. They have Knack Barrel, which I think

1141
00:54:51.519 --> 00:54:53.920
is just like a shipping company. And then they have

1142
00:54:54.000 --> 00:54:57.559
SPDE like O get a fucking protein sponsor like Metrics

1143
00:54:57.639 --> 00:54:59.920
used to be. Go get a fucking shoe company, Go

1144
00:55:00.079 --> 00:55:01.960
get you know, there's a million other companies out there

1145
00:55:01.960 --> 00:55:04.400
that'll sponsor this thing. Like there's ways to make money.

1146
00:55:04.719 --> 00:55:07.119
There's ways to make money. And then if if you know,

1147
00:55:07.800 --> 00:55:11.960
if the illuminati of SPD is blocking other sponsors, like

1148
00:55:12.039 --> 00:55:14.760
maybe they do another federation so I don't know, that's

1149
00:55:14.800 --> 00:55:17.800
then make them pay more and then don't worry about money. Right,

1150
00:55:18.199 --> 00:55:21.079
there is such thing as monopolizing sponsorship. That's great, you know,

1151
00:55:21.280 --> 00:55:23.519
but then pay up so we don't have the church tickets.

1152
00:55:23.599 --> 00:55:26.199
Yeah, you, your sponsorship has to be at a certain

1153
00:55:26.280 --> 00:55:27.800
level if you're gonna block everybody.

1154
00:55:27.599 --> 00:55:30.960
Yes, yeah, yeah, I'm not against that idea, But fucking

1155
00:55:31.000 --> 00:55:34.199
pay ups so we ain't gotta pay to watch seems silly.

1156
00:55:34.440 --> 00:55:35.079
Seems silly.

1157
00:55:35.400 --> 00:55:35.599
Yep.

1158
00:55:35.880 --> 00:55:37.679
I wonder if they'll announce where they are next. They're

1159
00:55:37.679 --> 00:55:40.079
gonna take up an option here? Probably not because the

1160
00:55:40.119 --> 00:55:41.320
church town of Bucks and no one's there, and they're

1161
00:55:41.320 --> 00:55:43.519
gonna blame the city. They'll blame the fans.

1162
00:55:44.000 --> 00:55:46.199
Yeah, that's actually that's another part of it that I

1163
00:55:46.440 --> 00:55:49.639
that I'm disturbed by. They said, how is it? I

1164
00:55:49.639 --> 00:55:52.199
don't know what the other cities look like, and I

1165
00:55:52.239 --> 00:55:54.760
mean they're probably with camera angles or whatever, try to

1166
00:55:54.840 --> 00:55:57.800
try to minimize the fact that it's not not filled out.

1167
00:55:57.880 --> 00:55:59.679
But for all we know, they didn't charge, right, they

1168
00:55:59.719 --> 00:56:02.760
did Charleston er wherever, rtal or whatever. One year in between,

1169
00:56:03.960 --> 00:56:06.280
two years in between you oh, two two in a row. Yeah,

1170
00:56:06.280 --> 00:56:07.880
they did two in a row here and then two

1171
00:56:07.960 --> 00:56:10.239
away and then so three years ago though as far

1172
00:56:10.239 --> 00:56:14.400
as we know, they barely charged, right, Yeah, you could see. Well,

1173
00:56:14.480 --> 00:56:16.519
yeah we saw, we saw everything we wanted. We saw

1174
00:56:16.559 --> 00:56:18.800
everything we wanted. There's a mini gate so you don't

1175
00:56:18.840 --> 00:56:19.840
jump on the thing, and that's it.

1176
00:56:20.079 --> 00:56:22.480
That's it. Yeah, the it was, I mean, really the

1177
00:56:22.519 --> 00:56:23.880
worst of it is the fact that they tried to

1178
00:56:23.960 --> 00:56:27.199
they put this privacy screen. Yeah. It just doesn't make

1179
00:56:27.199 --> 00:56:29.679
any sense. No, it doesn't make any sense. So I

1180
00:56:29.719 --> 00:56:31.800
don't know. All right, that's all I got.

1181
00:56:31.880 --> 00:56:33.880
All right, ladies and gentlemen. New episode is every Wednesday.

1182
00:56:33.880 --> 00:56:34.719

1183

1184
00:56:37.159 --> 00:56:38.239

1185
00:56:38.679 --> 00:56:40.440
I am at the Jim mcdone all the social media.

1186
00:56:40.480 --> 00:56:43.079

1187
00:56:43.079 --> 00:56:45.000
Fifty percent of that. Facts is a speaker Prime podcast
