The IPF is coming to CBS?

We didn’t have this announcement on our radar:

“The IPF and CBS Sports (broadcaster of the Super Bowl 2024) have signed a multi-year agreement to bring IPF powerlifting to the TV in the USA and the whole of North America.” (Full release here: https://www.powerlifting.sport/about-ipf/news/news-detail/ipf-secures-tv-broadcast-partnership-for-north-america).

For tested lifters in the US, does this change the calculus of choosing the IPF-affiliated Powerlifting America versus the larger and more familiar USAPL? And will anyone outside of powerlifting fandom be interested in watching a full meet -- or even a collection of highlights – on broadcast TV? We’ll find out later this year with coverage of a bench-only competition in Austin, Texas.
