This discussion started around a hypothetical question about why animals are allowed to compete in some formats (like racing) and not in others (fighting). While some would find the spectacle fascinating, animals can’t really give consent to fight…but they can’t consent to race either. Why is one ok and the other not? This evolved into a broader discussion about combat sports and whether or not humans fighting is entirely ethical either.
