“People often have an affinity for strength training because progress is objectively measurable via the weight on the bar, versus subjectively when it comes to physique progress. But are stark, concrete numbers a double-edged sword? Can plateauing -- and a lack of objective progress -- coupled with a sole focus on numbers -- actually disenfranchise people during their lifting journey? How can one effectively balance the journey vs the destination in terms of goal setting and sustaining long-term interest in strength?

So, are objective goals easier to focus on than subjective ones? Or can they discourage you and actually mess with your head even more?
